#soprano problems

The most crushing thing to hear as a musical theatre fan and singer is that “you don’t have a Broadway voice” because you don’t have a chesty belt and really predominant head voice in a chunk of your range. So, like I can hit the notes in the songs I sing but it doesn’t sound “Broadway” enough. There goes my dreams, lads.

Also rip to being a Soprano over a Mezzo-Soprano when it comes to most female leads :(

So obviously as an eighteen year old I am an emotional wreck, and my only sense of self worth comes from people complimenting my singing, but sometimes I really, really wish I wasn't a soprano.

With Caro Mio Ben being sampled in Beyonce's new album, how many sopranos are having flashbacks to high school voice lessons?

I think it was the first song I was given in the 9th grade.

I mean, I remember being shocked when it was used as a voice lesson song in Amadeus (a movie I saw for the first time my sophomore year of college)...

This song just goes on and on, we cannot escape it.
