Surgery went well, but fuck am I hurting and have been so groggy from the anesthesia 😖 I’m gonna be down for a few days and sore 😢

Feeling Motivated
As of late, I’ve experienced this rise of motivation, this burning desire to take my workouts a bit more seriously and to do them consistently. I’ve been skipping rope pretty frequently but I’ve been wanting to experiment with higher intensity cardio-based workouts that will help me maintain my physique or improve my physical endurance.
The day before yesterday, I began the start of my new weekly sprints workout regimen. At least once a week -- but no more than twice -- I will do do sprints and/or sprint interval workouts to supplement my frequent jump roping and of course my jiu-jitsu. Gotta use the time between bjj days to keep my body working.
While I’m not aiming to make weight for a specific goal in mind, I couldn’t help but think about the upcoming NABJJF Los Angeles Open tournament in June. The last time I competed was for this very competition last year and I recall it motivated me to train more seriously on and off the mat. While I think it’s not very likely that I will compete this year, I’m using this motivation to keep myself in check and make sure I don’t slip by binging on shitty foods (although once in a while is fiiiiine hehe) and being too passive about my exercise.
On a side note, I’m just SO happy I started my new sprints workouts this week because proffessor had us do burpee intervals in class yesterday -- which he’s never done before! So, on top of my hamstrings and quads feeling sore as fuck, my arms and back are pretty shot up too! YAY!! MOTIVATED!
