Another point that makes me think it's not so much about the food but the company is the way RE4 Leon scarfs his food down raw. Like he couldn't be bothered with the effort when he's alone. It's not something I'd ever personally go looking for. I think most of the fics I've read with this in it were focused on the tsunami and the aftermath. Which is of course canonical.
