One solid opinion I have that I will never change is that the people who say "Why do Jax fans ignore that he's an abuser and woobify him?" have no idea what the difference between
a) dissecting a character mentally to understand their actions and where they're coming from
versus
b) defending their every action, downplaying their abuse, and calling them a good person
A lot of people in this fandom have the emotional maturity of a rock, and expect you to "pick sides" when it's really not that simple.
I don't particularly like Gangle or Ragatha as a person, but that's not gonna stop me from wanting to learn more about them and wanting to dissect them mentally and basically call a spade a spade. Gangle is a victim and Ragatha is a victim, no matter how I feel about them and no matter how I much I adore Jax.
But Jax is also a victim.
Being a victim and being an abuser are not mutually exclusive. This is how generational abuse cycles are created
Listen there's a lot of aspects about myself that I hate, but the one thing I pride myself on is my ability to stay neutral and objective in most situations
If you hate Jax, say you hate Jax. Stop trying to justify your opinion and feelings as if they're inherently wrong by making things up about the show and turning a blind eye to its actual messages.
