as a fan of the original Thief series who loves playing fan missions it sucks so much to see the new missions using ai slop images or voice acting. if you didn't care enough to take some time to put something you made yourself/using already existing painting (like every normal person do) why should i care and play it in the first place

Honestly I hate how mainstream a lot of fan culture has become. I don't mean mainstream as in having more people in fandoms, but how prevalent it's become to force celebrities to acknowledge and engage with fan content to an almost violating extent. It leaves a lot of celebrities feeling SUPER uncomfortable, and it makes fandom spaces feel so much less safe knowing that there's a chance our content is going to be shown to the artists/actors without their consent or actual interest. Actors who are genuinely interested and want to be involved are one thing, but it's getting to the point that all celebrities are like, expected to read smut and look at NSFW fanart, and when they express that it makes them uncomfortable they're still forced to consume it. People are not going to feel safe and comfortable writing and creating knowing that they're content at any time could be thrust onto an unconsenting celebrity, which is why it's so important to correctly tag fandom content and keep it in fandom spaces. I love fan culture becoming more normalized, but the influx of new people who absolutely refuse to educate themselves on respect and privacy in fandom spaces, are going to ruin it for everybody. It used to be exciting and fun when an actor or celebrity acknowledged fan content such as fanfiction or fanart, because it meant that they were ACTIVELY looking for it, but now it feels embarrassing and uncomfortable most of the time it's brought up because it's not the actors doing, it's people entering fandom spaces, taking content, and throwing it at the actor for some kind of shock value.

Can we invent a trope to describe "I clash with this person cause we have different ideals/we bicker a lot cause our world views are so different/whatever" that is NOT enemies to lovers??? Like I've seen people call revanasi enemies to lovers and that is already borderline to me. Cause yeah Carth sure says he would shoot Revan etc but their actual relationship in game isn't like that...? Anyway this was not about them. What I wanted to say is I already struggle to put that label onto those two, why am I always seeing it on people like fucking Kate and Anthony from Bridgerton

I just realized, Dutch might just be the only one that actually dies in the end. It’s hoping too much for both Aneela and Dutch to survive the final battle. Dutch was the “mistake”, Aneela was the OG. Killjoys’ amazingly good at subverting tropes, including Bury Your Gays. It is actually funny how so far on this show, every season’s “sacrificial lamb” has been ANY hetero ship the second it sails steady. Pawter/John, then Pippin/Zeph, even Lucy/John(except AI Killjoy so she comes back with a baby instead, told ya they’re good). Much less funny is how it’s getting very clears that Dutch and D’avin’s relationship finally ran out of distractions, its one last problem from the past and then no more escaping their future now. But Dutch will never escape her Martyr complex either.  Also she's chalking up a worrying amount of hugs this season. The odds against Dutch surviving the series intact suddenly terrifies me.

Gosh, if there’s one fanfiction AU I intensely dislike, it’s soulmate AUs, 

They’re always so cringy - the two main characters are soulmates and initially one or both of them will be resistant to the idea but by the end they’ll realise that the love each other after all.  It’s just the most forced plot device to get two characters together - like a far less interesting variant of two characters forced to pretend they’re dating (but end up falling for each other for real) except it also has that lack of free will because they are together because destiny. They’ve not really chosen each other and if one is fighting it than they’re always wrong for doing so.

Honestly, regardless of a girl’s reason for liking a sport, guys should never judge us. Who the hell cares if we only like it/watch it because we find a player attractive!? Does it really fucking matter!? And if we are watching it because we think a player is attractive we still have to learn enough about the sport to have some semblance of what the hell is going on. So to question our dedication to a sport is completely uncalled for.
