MISFORTUNE FOLLOWS her everywhere. Water welled in the corner of the females eyes as she grasped frantically at the lifeless body before her. It happened again. No matter how much she heaved the body is barely moved. The rain pounding the back of her shoulders had more strenght than she did right now. It also was making the terrain very hard to navigate across. Heave. Heave. Hot puffs of hair left Alex as she stumbled over her own feet, landing on the softened ground with an audible thud. She couldn’t see where she was going. It was dark. Too dark. Tears streamed down her face, as she processed her situation, eyes drifting over the precarious appearance. Her white dress was completely covered in mud and blood which only made her choke up. Her arms and legs, even her face was covered too. She didn’t understand. Now she’d have to leave town again before they found out it was her. Everytime she blacked out, she woke up in this situation.
Pushing her hair out of her eyes, she clambered over to the body again. She could barely look at the thing. It helped, otherwise she’d be thinking what kind of life she just had taken, what family just lost their Father or Spouse. Luckily as much as the rain was unpleasant it would help cover her tracks.
‘ What are you doing with that? ‘
Alex froze at the sound of someone’s voice. It was the middle of the night, it was almost pitch black. Her head slowly turned in the direction of the voice to see a silouhete of someone stood there. This was it, she had been caught, it was the end. Why did people die around her? She didn’t ask for this.
If she wasn’t panicking before, she was now. Her throat dried up instantly, making it hard to talk. ‘ I - I - didn’t mean too. ‘ She doesn’t even know what she did. Alex could barely see the others face too. ‘ I don’t know what happened! ‘ The woman babbled defensively, climbing to her feet. Her eyes drifting down to the body then back up to the figure before her. What was she going to do now? Stumbling backwards, her head darted side to side, looking for a quick getaway.
‘ I’m sorry!!! ‘ Turning quickly on her heels, she hurried away in the opposite direction as the man. She had been seen, she had to go. Maybe if she made it to the next town by morning, she can get away without any consequences.
