Are We Soul-less?

It is estimated that the world population reached its first billion in 1804. It took so many millenia to reach this mark. But it took just 123 years for the population to reach 2 billion. And now here we are at 7.3 billion, 91 years later. Thank you, Baby Boomers. People say that a soul never perishes. It just leaves the mortal body behind when a person dies. That got me wondering, if the world's population 200 years ago was just 1/7th of the current population, where did all these 6 billion new souls come from? Or is it that only 1 in 7 people have a soul? Or maybe we only have 1/7th of the soul that our ancestors had? The latter seems more reasonable, seeing the humanity in people is disappearing year after year. So that would mean that when the population increases, humanity decreases because people have less soul in them. It's sociologically true, about the population and humanity being inversely related. It happens because when you have more mouths to feed, you become greedy and ruthless. Nothing related to a lesser soul, unfortunately. It seems that I found the answer to my question. I thought so, too. But after tossing and turning in bed and asking this to everyone, I may have come to a conclusion. When it's said that a soul goes through the cycle of rebirth, it takes a different form, a soul may not necessarily take the form of a human- it can become a fish, a bird, a mosquito, a bed bug... Basically anything. Similarly, the soul of any other living being, may get reborn as a human. Eureka! This is the answer! The 6 billion extra souls walking, sleeping, jumping... Existing, on Earth are actually the reincarnated souls of the animals which existed when the humans weren't everywhere. There used to be a lot more animals in the good ol' days, remember? So then, we are not only scientifically and environmentally responsible for the ever decreasing number of animals on Earth. We are also soul-ly and solely responsible for it. *pun intended*

Elijah: We should probably see a doctor.

Zelda: And why on Earth would we do that?

Elijah: We're sitting on our bed, shuddering whenever the other person wants to talk, when we could just think to each other.

Zelda: Why are you making a blog post about us talking to the other soul that inhabits our body?

Elijah: Because although there's no punchline, I want to show people one of the other spirits I live with. Look, we better hurry up before Deceit, as in Delilah, Joy, as in Janine, Romance, as in Roma, and Charming, as in Charlie wake up. I think that's everyone who'll be in the video tomorrow.
