Peace, family. I want to take the time to thank these two brothers right here. The Sultans of Soul, @asanteamin and @chenlo formed their company @soulsciencelab out of sweat, bone gristle, and a wish sammich. I believe you've heard of @soundtrack63 at this point. Well, that came about through much prayer and hard work. The type of work I am talking about happens mostly behind closed doors. This work happens when the cameras are off and the speakers are silent. The work is unpopular and slow to gratify. This work is passed off to another person or simply passed on all too often. I know, because I was there during almost every phase and have seen it happen before. Prior to being professionally involved with #Soundtrack63, I affirmed for them to take it Worldwide. And, they are mighty close to achieving that. Extending to an interstate tour and playing The @ApolloTheater in this short timeframe leaned credence to my claim. A solid faith in themselves and their people, the brothers have been using their last dimes and recreational time to produce a work greater than art. Soundtrack is not a show. It is a movement. It is an anthem. It is a curriculum. It is an experience. Our people have long been told to get over what happened to us. Our children aren't even aware of great portions of their history. However, as Chen says in the first act, we cannot know where we are going if we do not know where we come from. As tearful as it makes me, the company, and the 100's of participants in the experience, we all continue to share the history and experience to be reminded of where we are and must go. Thank you @soulsciencelab for being a reminder of our pain, our greatness, our love, and our purpose. I speak for myself, but I grateful on behalf of my people. As hard as it was to get it here, it was ten times as necessary. Keep On Pushin. (at Brooklyn, New York)
