Several months ago, The Temple received an ask from @breathingwithnoheir (original post can be found here) regarding how to adjust Temple Hyacinthus' calendar for the Southern Hemisphere.
Originally, we advised that those in the Southern Hemisphere could adjust the calendar by moving Ritual Months and subsequent Solar/Lunar Holy Days ahead by 6 months.
This would seem to be the logical course of action, as The Temple's calendar is structured around the four seasons. However, upon reflection we wanted to provide some additional clarification and additional insight regarding this issue.
Temple Hyacinthus' calendar is very uniquely and specifically structured around the local weather, flora, and fauna, of the state of South Carolina in the United States of America. An example of this point, The Full Moon celebration that occurs annually during the month of Boathoos (September) is named 'The Hurricane Moon'. This is because "Most tropical cyclones that affect South Carolina,
including those at hurricane strength, occur in September and October" (Source: South Carolina Department of Natural Resources).
Adjusting this for the Southern Hemisphere, by moving the calendar ahead by 6 months, would make Boathoos instead occur during the Gregorian month of March. Which one could do, but depending on the Southern Hemisphere country in question may or may not align with local natural phenomenon. Hurricanes (or Cyclones as they are more commonly called in the Southern Hemisphere) are a very rare, if not non-existent, for certain Southern countries.
So, while moving the calendar ahead by 6 months will align with the seasonal themes overall, there may be some features of the calendar that will not align with the geographical area of each practitioner (but this can also be true for the Northern Hemisphere).
With all that in mind, a 2025 Southern Hemisphere Calendar has just been finalized! Printable calendars can be found here.
A Google Calendar for the Southern Hemisphere is in the works and hopefully will be finished by the end of this month. We have already mapped out the 2026 calendar for both hemispheres, so no need to worry about next year! The Temple has you covered.
Where Kings are King 6U8A5176 by Daniel D'Auria

The glow of a rising sun bathes a King Penguin in an auburn aura. Having just waddled out of the ocean, the bird stretches and shakes the glistening drops of brine from its feathers. It’s the start of a new day on Volunteer Beach in the Falklands where King Penguins reign.
After the storm building each afternoon for weeks then just dissipating, we have rain. My rosemary is now taller than me, I bought it for 50c as a half dead seedling.
