Hazel Flood 02/??
if we go off of what roux song says ab how before kooshma came to him, he was all sad, had a lot of guilt and was basically the opposite of who he is now..
its safe to say at one point he was just an average man which is so funny to me, im probably wrong but just imagining him working a 9-5 and doing things like a regular person is so silly
tbh roux is no better than me id go with kooshma too if it meant not having to go to work anymore

You were at Hazel's house for a sleepover when the hurricane hit. It was too dangerous to return home, so you hunkered down with her.
What was originally supposed to be gossiping, ordering take-out, adding stuff to your online shopping carts, knowing you're not gonna buy anything, and binging your favorite shows turned into nothing short of a disaster…
So much adrenaline hit in that moment. Once you saw Hazel run, you were quick to run with her. Through her screams for her mom, she eventually registered that you were following close behind her.
Hazel tried to tell you to go home and get your loved ones to safety only for you to yell back at her that Lacey was basically your mama too. You weren't gonna let anything happen to her
With that you both ran, ran and ran till you eventually had to escape from Bunny's house, fight your way through hordes of haints, help heal a man-tree known as Benjy, and now make your way through probably the nastiest place you've been so far which was the stomping grounds of a gator the size of several houses.
Two-toed Tom
Eventually, you noticed that both of you were growing tired. Sure, yall wanted to keep going for the sake of Lacey, but you'd both be too exhausted to face any future threats.
“Hazel..Hazel please wait up! We can't keep going like this!” Up ahead was Hazel. She was used to running in blazing heat, but all the climbing and fighting was taking a toll on her, her muscles ached terribly.
She heard your words and didn't want to disregard you. You did risk your life for her and her ma.
“Why? You good?” She turned around but continued to walk backwards, she didn't want to stop, though, you did see her starting to sweat and breathe a little harder as time went on, eventually she turned back around and walked like normal.
“Not at all, You're forgetting that we ain't eat since all that happened, plus we stayed up all night. I know you wanna find her, but we also need to take a break, ain't you tired?” Hazel made a face, eyebrows furrowed, jaw clenched, and lips stretched a little to form a frown. You couldn't see it but she was fighting herself in her head, her body was telling her to rest and her mind said keep going.
Right now, her mind was winning.
“I'll be alright, besides if we take a break, who knows what will happen to mama?”
You had no choice but to agree. Anything could be happening to Lacey right now, and you would probably be pissed if your so-called saviors took a break instead of trying to get to you. You could only hope she was safe.
“True..guess you gonna have to go on without me.”
Hazel stopped on her tracks and turned around, “Huh?”
“You heard me, go on now, I'll be here..all by my lonesome..” You trailed off, sitting on a nearby tree stump and purposely made yourself look as sad as possible.
Hazel put her hands on her hips, “You just gonna sit on that stump all day?"
“Don't see why not, I'm in the shade, and these animals can keep me company”
Hazel snorted a little, “As if, I don't wanna leave you here, but we gotta get a move on”
“Sure, but don't you wanna rest your legs for just a sec?”
You looked at her, over the top sad look remaining, then finally..
she caved.
“5 minutes, that's it”
A big, toothy smile replaced your mopey frown, and you scooted over so she'd have enough room on the stump. For a minute, it was peaceful silence, birds chirping, soft wind blowing through the air.
“Here in a bit we gotta deal with some big ass gator..” Hazel looked out into the disheveled land ahead. She wasn't looking at anything in particular. She was mostly thinking of the prehistoric beast you two were inevitably gonna have to face.
“Right, we should call Coyote Peterson and have him handle this for us” you chimed in, earning a laugh from her.
after that, it was back to silence for a while. You didn’t count the seconds you had left and hoped she wasn't either. Surely, sitting a little longer wouldn't hurt. Before you knew it, you felt Hazel's shoulder brush against yours. At first, you thought it was an accident till she leaned closer and stayed there.
“Thank you for coming with me, I appreciate you” you looked down at your legs, unbeknownst to you, you both wore matching smiles, you hummed, “better be, I don't go around wrestling alligators for just anybody Hazel!”
Hazel smacked her lips and gave you a look that told you she didn't buy a single word you said.
She eventually stood up, your five minutes were long over, and she was ever eager to continue on.
She offered her hand out to help you up, and you reluctantly took it, not that you didn't want her help.
It was just that you wished the two of you could sit a little longer.
Still, you take her hand, ease your way up, and stretch a little. You were grateful for the little moment of rest you had regardless if it felt so short.
You were happier, though. Hazel seemed to be in a brighter mood now that she had a moment to collect her thoughts so the short break was worth it in your book.
Hazel began walking and called out after you, “Come on, you got an alligator to wrestle!”
You followed close behind, “Me? If that's the case you better be the bait!”
Despite the fear creeping up on you, you felt a little safer facing danger head on with her by your side, and a part of you knew that she felt the same way.
You two were quite literally going to fight a dinosaur soon, but here you were, cracking jokes and bickering back and forth
Even in times such as this, as long as you had each other, it wouldn't be so bad.
Besides, watching her smile and hearing her laugh only proved you right in the end
aaa!! i was procrastinating this but im so glad i finished it!
more fics to come, if you have a request or any questions feel free to ask!
