I've gotten a couple comments on my latest chapter of Scene of Wisteria, and I did just want to say that I haven't abandoned the fic, just that writing has been a little hard for me lately due to my own issues with focusing. I'm at a point where I've including so many little things that I have to go through the earlier posted chapters and see what all i've made canon to try and not contradict myself.

SoW isn't going anywhere, I love it a little too much, I've just got a huge procrastination issue 😅

SoW updates

I'm so sorry on the radio silence lately! I've been going through some rough writer's block recently, except for the fact that I can think of ideas but not write them that well.

I'm currently working on the next four chapters of Sow, which will continue to go in the akaza-kyojuro-akaza-kyojuro pattern that i've established.

If this changes, i'll make sure to update again!

Also, I moved into a new place, one friend moved back, and then my other friend moved FIVE FUCKING HOURS AWAY. I'm also back to full 10+ hour work days for 3-5 days a week, and i'm still broke. It's ROUGH right now.

I also wanted to update you all on Keifuji’s name, because I figured out what the FUCK it was supposed to be. “Kei” comes from the first character of Keshiki (景色), and it means scenery. If you isolate the first character in google translate, it becomes Kei (景), which simply means view. Fuji is wisteria, something which I already knew for sure.

This means Keifuji’s name is (extremely roughly) “Wisteria View”, hence, “The Scene of Wisteria”.

This is going to be really brief, but I figured I'd keep you all updated.

I'm current working on the next four chapters of Scene of Wisteria, along with a "this stuff is canon but isn't necessary at all" one-shot collection works for Scene of Wisteria. I also have my Hunger Games AU still in the back of my brain!

Also, I didn't say this in here, only in the latest SoW update, but i'm currently in the process of moving, and we need to close on the house by the end of the month, so it's going to be a wild ride. I might be able to update before then, but if not, expect something sometime after the 10th of March.

The Scene of Wisteria Chapter Six Sneak Peek

Though Kyojuro is somewhat confident that he could get to the Ubuyashiki Manor without the help of his crow after going to Hashira meetings for two years, he wasn’t taking any chances. Shinobu herself had confessed that she still struggled to find her way to the manor. She had an additional year of service as a Hashira and she was far more intelligent than Kyojuro was.

After a moment, Kyojuro starts to walk, watching as Kaname immediately started to match his pace, his sights still on the manor so far away from them. He steadily increased his steps, keeping his attention on both his crow and on his surroundings. That hadn’t disappeared in his five months of recovery; he was still hyper-aware of every footstep, of every rock and branch in his way. He always knew who was walking out in the hallway, who was coming up behind him when he was training.

He spots the Kakushi before the Kakushi spots him, even with his decreased vision. It takes them another moment before they start waving their arms out to him.

“Rengoku-Sama!” The young man called out. “This way, Rengoku-Sama!”

Kyojuro turns towards the young man, and he starts slowing down so that he didn’t overtake the young Kakushi. Kaname has fallen back as well, patiently watching them from above.

Soon, the Kakushi is slowing down significantly, his chest moving rapidly as they came to the gates of the Ubuyashiki Manor.

“Here we are,” the young man says as Kyojuro stops beside him, breathless. Then, the man bends over, holding onto his knees. “Oh god,” he gasps.

Kyojuro laughs fun naturedly, patting the man on the back. “Thank you for your assistance, young man!” He says.

The Kakushi looks up at him, grunting a little bit, but Kyojuro doesn’t get a chance to reply before a familiar young voice calls out to him. Kyojuro turns, and smiles at the young boy who is waiting there, his hands clasped in front of himself.

“Kiriya-Chan,” Kyojuro says softly, them smiles at the young boy. “Did you come out here to greet me?”

The young boy hesitates for a moment, and Kyojuro can see a weight on his shoulders. Something is weighing the boy down, like he’s got a secret or a responsibility that he might be just too young for.

Then, Kiriya nods and bows a little bit. “Please, follow me.”

Kyojuro feels Kaname land on his shoulder as Kyojuro gives an affirmative nod. “Please, lead the way, Kiriya-Chan.”

They don’t go very far; while the estate is large, most of it is reserved for the Kakushi or the Ubuyashiki family itself. Even as a Hashira, he’s only allowed so much access to the estate.

Kiriya leads him into the small portion of the estate that he’s permitted in, then moves over to one of the room. When the young boy slides the door open, Kyojuro finds himself pausing at the sight. Even Kaname stops preening his feathers and looks up.

“Father,” Kyojuro says, trying his best to not sound surprised.
