About the Next Generation
As much as Lance loved his family, he never started one of his own. He was the kind of uncle who never missed a holiday or a celebration — and when he couldn’t be there, he sent gifts instead. But time moved on. People aged. He didn’t. And the more years passed, the more dangerous it became for anyone to stay in touch with him.
Until Pidge’s death, Lance still had a safe, encrypted way to contact everyone. But after that… even with how hard the Holts tried, some of Pidge’s tech eventually reached the public. And with it, the safety Lance once had, disappeared.
The only one who still knows he’s alive is Hunk and Shay’s daughter. Being the only one with Paladin blood left, she eventually took over the main museum dedicated to Voltron’s legacy. Once a year, she meets a traveler — a stranger with stories of the old days. No matter the form he takes, she always recognizes him by his unchanged blue eyes.
And most of all, by the half of a matching necklace — the same kind worn by her father, Aunt Pidge, Uncle Shiro, and Keith. By the museum’s rules, she should have taken it as an exhibit.
She only wishes him well… and waits to see him again next year.
