Spacebuster, an inflatable mobile structure designed by Raumlambor, transforms public spaces of all kinds into points of community gathering.
SpaceBuster was a truly unique event last Wednesday evening in a grassy, open Braddock lot hosted by Kevin Sousa (Salt of the Earth, Union Pig & Chicken and Station Street), UnSmoke Artspace and the Storefront for Art & Architecture. What initially struck our intrigue about the event wasn’t solely the mouthwatering thought of BBQ enjoyed outside or the mysterious inhabitable bubble promised to be there but the purpose behind the night.
At this point, Mr. Sousa, a McKees Rocks native, has amassed a local fame and diligent following from his courageous culinary projects within the Pittsburgh area (if you haven’t already, google the man). While many in the past have questioned his commercial gastronomic decisions he seeks to prove with his next endeavor that there is no mystery to the madness - just a love for food and dedication to community.
Kevin Sousa is currently working on a multi-functional restaurant space and culinary training program + garden in grassy, sky-high Braddock to be named Magarac. We look forward to tracking his progress.
