Con Farr is approaching!

Greetings, K/S Friends!

KiScon is upon us!! The Con Book is ready to be sent out to our attendees, our delightful artshow is ready to rock, our favourite Trek mugs and shot glasses have been polished, and we are ready to welcome you all aboard next week.

Therefore – *takes out the megaphone* – Attention, Attention...

1. Last call for flight KiScon 2025!!

If you have not yet registered for KiScon 2025, here's your reminder that registration is only open until the end of the 27th of October 2025 (timezone Anywhere On Earth, i.e. UTC -12). You can register here.

If financial considerations have been holding you back, please do not be shy – ask for a scholarship. Thanks to our very generous members, we still have several scholarships available – no questions asked. Send us a message to [email protected].

2. A few last reminders

If you are already registered to attend the convention, please keep an eye on your email inbox (the email address you used for signing up!): The Con Book with the schedule, and all the important links, and the login details for our Member Zone will go out later today. If you do not find it in your inbox, please check your spam folder.

Please make sure to update your Zoom to the most recent version and check whether your headphones/mic are working. We recommend using headphones if possible.

If you want to make the most out of your KiScon experience, please consider joining us on our Discord server (if you haven't already). If you are already a member of our "KiScord", please check whether you have received the KiScon 2025 Attendee role that will give you access to the con-exclusive channels.

Double-check your profile/user name on Discord and Zoom; using your badge name is best practice. Please consider adding your preferred pronouns.

Make sure you have snacks, drinks, and quick/easy meals available for your con weekend. Hours go by quickly when one is glued to the screen, and we want you to be well hydrated and nourished to fully enjoy the con.

2. Dress rehearsal at Pub Night today

If you have any tech questions and need more guidance or want to try out things in a smaller setting, you are invited to join us at Pub Night today, 25 October 2025, 2:00 PM EDT, in our usual pub night zoom. Spock and Kirk are canon. They have literally been canon for basically the entire time. No I do not need to see them fuck nasty. They kiss a ridiculous amount throughout TOS and the TOM. They are T'hy'la, which is basically the vulcan equivalent of once-in-a-millennia-soulmateism. Like they have a bond that is considered like anciently mythical practically it is so rare. Kirk is literally pulled from the Nexus INTO an alternate universe to be beside Spock when he dies.

They're soulmates.

They've been together (basically) the entire time we have had them.

Everything PRE-TOS is laying the ground work for a road we have already traveled. We already KNOW the end point. This is NOT a new road. This is filling cracks and pot holes and adding fresh paint to an existing road. But the destination remains the same.

Literally barring them deciding last minute before the show ends to change the timeline entirely. But all they did was bump it 30 years (and im not complaining. That gives us 30 extra years worth of shit to decide what survives the Wars and fallout.)

I've returned to Star Trek fandom -- by which I mean, after loving the show starting around age 10, participating a bit in the pre-internet 'zine scene in my early 20s, watching Next Gen when it aired ... and then kind of losing interest for a few decades. Until Disco and SNW sucked me back in. I'm old school ride or die for Kirk/Spock. Now combing Ao3 for great fics, writing one of my own and wanting to find out who's who in fandom now.
