I've returned to Star Trek fandom -- by which I mean, after loving the show starting around age 10, participating a bit in the pre-internet 'zine scene in my early 20s, watching Next Gen when it aired ... and then kind of losing interest for a few decades. Until Disco and SNW sucked me back in. I'm old school ride or die for Kirk/Spock. Now combing Ao3 for great fics, writing one of my own and wanting to find out who's who in fandom now.

Me: long term fangirl. Grown-up and proud of it. (Don't hit me with age-ist crap about fandom not being for people over 25 because it just makes you look ignorant.) Other fandoms: Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Black Sails, Hannibal.

I think chapel might actually be the one out of Spocks league actually. Also since they never properly defined their relationship it feels like he wasn't listening to her like ever. She needs someone who will listen and will let her dictate the pace of things, she's like a stray cat that's afraid of being held and he won't stop picking her up because her being scared upsets him.

I think this success with the fellowship will help her a lot, and getting off the flagship away will let her heal a lot. She deserves a break and to be uplifted for being the absolute queen she is. Let her heal, let her have fun. Let her feel her feelings without someone else getting insecure and shifting the focus.

Maybe it's bc I'm a cat person but when I see something with pointy ears that's hungry my heart just shatters. He seemed so curious and silly.

I hope we see him again.

I think people forget that even if Spock (TOS) seems ok with people dieing that man LOVES the entire crew. Yea no one can compare to Kirk and Bones but he is protective of checkov(sometimes seems like a mentor to him) he jokes around with scotty, he's always so nice to Uhara and enjoy music together and he definitely respects and trusts sulu, and he's always so tolerable of nurse chapel and respects her feelings even though he can't return them he does his best not to hurt her feelings. He cares about them all.

So I think it's really amazing that in SNWs we get to see him making friends and being social. I think it's adorable. I can also definitely see the pain of seeing them get hurt or seeing them die leading him to be more hesitant to get that close.
