Spare Parts: Episode 1 v2.0 is now available! A new-and-improved completely rewritten script, updated sprites and CGs, a new song, and a bunch of other improvements!
Spare Parts is an episodic visual novel about a gay human girl and some gay robots she meets. Together, they struggle with pain, identity, love, and their own bodies.
Episode 1 is a short introduction to the cast and setting, available on Itch (for free) and Steam (for $3).
Episode 2 delves deeper into the tensions brewing within the family of robots. Unit 03, who wants freedom, struggles against the restrictions placed on her by Unit 01, the one appointed as "caretaker." Lucy gets caught in the middle, unsure which of the two to side with.
It is also available on Itch and Steam.
Episode 3, currently in early access, explores Unit 02's anxiety about Unit 03's desires to integrate herself into human society, opening all of them up to danger. Their bodiless assistant, Violet, stokes those fears while Unit 04 seeks a way they can be useful. Her anger and despair come to a head when strange dreams of a woman she doesn't remember start to affect her behavior.

you should read my friends' vns:
coquette dragoon - mecha sci-fi about girls seeking companionship in the miserable shadow of war. the girls are really normal also is the great thing about them
spare parts - slice-of-life drama about a girl who meets a family of robots and does her best to help them. but watch out! they're all really normal in this one too btw, which is awesome
both of these are masterclasses in emotive storytelling and presentation, and they're most of the reason i decided to pursue soulsov as a vn. if there is truly "an oel vn renaissance" underway, then i think these two are leading the charge.
