“I gotta say, I much prefer here to earth.” The harsh desert was too cruel a reminder of the mining colony she grew up in. “Even if hopping locations is jarring.”

“I gotta say, I much prefer here to earth.” The harsh desert was too cruel a reminder of the mining colony she grew up in. “Even if hopping locations is jarring.”
mostly amalie stayed inside armitage’s quarters, hiding herself away so that no one would see her. but the thought of her poor, dear handmaiden suffering in that cell for her made her take her first steps outside the suite when armitage was busy with a multitude of meetings. she would go visit her, and search for any ways to help free her. she wore one of her simpler dresses that he had brought to his place for her, plus a long cape with a large hood to conceal her face, which she kept down anyway as she made her way through the palace plaza. however, as she spotted stormtroopers, the queen quickly turned away from them and grabbed the nearest person as if they had been mid-conversation, her eyes silently begging for them to not to call the troopers over.
the early morning air somehow managed to relax ben, likely due to the fact that he hadn’t seen the outdoors much before his time on naboo; the inside of the supremacy had been what he’d grown accustomed to. but it was a welcomed change of atmosphere, even if he knew he’d have to inevitably return to the ship soon enough. that was another dilemma on his mind; what would become of the way things were now? although snoke was in power and the queen of naboo had been imprisoned, it was otherwise oddly...peaceful. the war was at a standstill. and he had the chance to just live for a bit. the few moments he had to himself were rare, but appreciated.
perched on the edge of a bench in the near-empty palace plaza, ben stared at the tiny box in front of him - the result of a drunken outing with his comrade, yet the thoughts behind it had been genuine. it terrified him - the questions that kept running through his mind endlessly, from when he went to sleep at night to the moment he awoke. was he ready for this? would he have the proper time to dedicate to it - to her? would it put them both in more danger? or would it help strengthen their bond more than ever? should he - could he go through with it? he swallowed hard, fixated on the diamond that reflected in the sunlight. “will you...marry me...” he whispered softly, practicing the words to see if it would help ease his thoughts.
just then he saw a shadow appearing on the plants in front of him, and he quickly snapped the box shut, shoving it in his pocket, hopefully before the other could notice. clearing his throat quickly, he stared ahead, pretending he hadn’t heard anyone else approaching.
“woah, woah, wow,” gael made a face at the sentient who’d spoken, pulling his hand away from his face. no he wasn’t hungover. ok, maybe a little bit. “who’d you just say was the best pilot? i’ll have you know that i’m insulted.”
“grounded?!” poe’s brows pulled together. this wasn’t the time for jokes, but what else could he do? it wasn’t in poe’s nature to admit defeat. “listen, i’m not some kid. you can’t ground me.” though he sounded a bit like a petulant child. “i haven’t even done anything wrong.”
this was no kitchen. naboo had only been a place giavanna had dreamed about. never had she left the grounds of arkanis, since the day she was born until the day she died. yet here she was, having just woken up in a meadow near two crashed ships, and was now approaching what appeared to be a large palace. she looked horrendously out of place, in her worn, basic gown, and her expression filled with terror. the last she remembered, men in white armor were bursting through her kitchen door and raising a blaster at her. then it all went blank. she had died. and she knew that. so what was going on? “excuse me,” she choked out, quickly approaching the nearest person. “c-can you tell me what’s going on here? i don’t know what’s happening, why i’m here.” her mind racked for any questions she could ask, to get more insight on the situation. “are we near arkanis? is there a man named brendol hux around?” the snake of a man had stolen her pride and joy, her dear armitage, from her when he was so young; she would not be surprised if he was behind all this.
his last memory is one of peace, a c c e p t a n c e, warmth. he closed his eyes and breathed out life, and then he was gone ... only he’s NOT. the sun glares down at him, back a little soaked as he stumbles around the desert planet ( only it’s not, it’s a patch of desert land that carries itself into some civilized area, with buildings taller than the jedi temple itself and luke finds himself hesitant on making the journey ) he’s young too — almost doesn’t recognize himself off the reflective surfaces of the tools he has on his person — at least in appearance. he sure doesn’t feel any younger, his memories intact of his worn and tired last years, carried out in isolation and bitterness as the darkness continued to creep in and distort balance, taking with it those he loves ( first his father, then his nephew — a byproduct of the skywalker gene ? ) his thoughts are interrupted as he finds himself pausing. goosebumps start forming on his arms, his body on alert as his eyes travel from point to point across the unknown territory. his mind, however remains serene ; one didn’t need to be force sensitive to sense another was near, and luke stops altogether, “well,” he doesn’t turn around quite yet, but there’s a questioning look in his eyes as he settles on a phrase of neutrality, tone breezy. “it seems the force has brought us together.”
She should’ve been dead.
Orion watched that missile fly straight for her ship and collided with it head on. She could’ve sworn that her life flashed before her eyes as everything exploded all around her. From celebratory dinner with her parents, the proud look her father’s face when she first joined the Gold squadron, sneaking off with her friends to watch shooting stars, the frantic cries through the radio during the Battle of Starkiller Base. She was content. She was satisfied. She was ready to depart from the world.
And somehow, Orion woke up on some desert planet in her nineteen year old body. She knew something was off.
“Alright...” she groaned. “I’ve been gone for all of five minutes. Which one of you buffoons messed up so bad that it somehow... led to this?”
