Mini-theories on the twin
Her twin is Bethany’s mother, hence why the rich lady wanted Bethany to call her Aunt Jessie.
Either Jessica killed her twin, and made everyone believe she herself was dead, so that she could play the A game without being suspected. In that case, I think her motive was Alison’s bully. Jessica thought Spencer was the one bullying Alison, and she may think that all the girls are responsible for everything that happened.
Or, Jessica is dead, and her twin is alive. In that case, I think her motive is Bethany’s death. Bethany told her psychiatrist that “She’s a bitch. She’s an evil bitch. I don’t mean nasty or rude, I mean evil. Without a soul. You can be the nicest person in the world, she gets them to do whatever she wants. 5 minutes with her you would drown a bag of kittens if she asks. Two minutes, if you’re a man. (…) Not destructive, self-defense. It’s me or her. She’s not the only one that can make plans”. Was Bethany talking about Charlotte, Jessica or Alison? Either way, she was out to hurt someone, and she ended up six feet under for it. Her mother knows what happened. She may even have figured out that Alison was going to fake her death, and thought that all her friends were in on it, and that’s why she’s after them.

I think Uber A has been there since day one, playing with both Mona and Charlotte, and this may be the reason why Sara Harvey was involved with Charlotte. Remember 4x14, when Hanna, Emily and Aria went to meet Sara’s friends. One of Sara’s friends couldn’t come, Avery. She was “having a hard time after Sara disappeared”. Maybe she didn’t. She knew Alison’s friends would recognize her, so she couldn’t go. But she can have abducted Sara, taken her to the dollhouse, so Charlotte could use her as she pleased, to play the game.
Was it just a coincidence that neither Spencer or Avery could come to the meeting? Maybe not. If either of them were there, the friends of the other one, would see that they were twins.
The nightmares Spencer had when she was getting off drugs for the second time, the one’s where she hit Ali and was covered in blood. They may have been real. Except that it wasn’t Spencer who hit someone, it was her twin, and Spencer witnessed it. She was used to high back then to remember what really happened.
This may also be why Jessica thought Spencer wanted to hurt Alison, and why she told the police that she had seen Spencer with the shovel.
Spencer also never seemed to fit right in with her family. She always messes things up, maybe that’s because she’s adopted, so she’s a little bit different than the rest of her family? That would explain why she doesn’t know she has a twin (and neither does her family)
Or Spencer’s twin spent time at Radley as a young child, and that’s why Spencer recognized the bath tub room, and Charles’ shoes, because she visited her sister. After a while, maybe the Hastings gave up on her daughter, like Kenneth did on Charles. There has been several times throughout the show, where someone has mentioned that Rosewood is a small town, and what people think of you really matters. Having a child at Radley, may not be good for someone’s reputation.
She may be adopted, and that’s why her father never really seems to care for her. Hopefully she is Bethany’s twin, and Bethany for some reason isn’t dead after all. That way we would get closure on Bethany.
Hanna was the only one noticing the “twins” in the red coats in Ravenswood. Alice, the little ghost girl from Alison’s Halloween story, showed up at the Marin home.
In the finale promo, it seems like A has gotten their hands on Hanna, but it may be her twin. That may also be the reason why Hanna was holding Caleb’s hand all of the sudden, and why she suddenly had become such a good liar, that she made Spencer believe her “confession” of killing Charlotte. And maybe Hanna’s twin really killed Charlotte, who knows.
Side-note: Emily couldn’t drink because she was going to donate her eggs. She couldn’t have been drunk that night Charlotte was killed, did she sneak off to see her?
