I know I don’t do personal posts too often here, it’s usually memes and the occasional boob, but I just need to talk about something and I want o be able to look back and think “Wow that’s amazing!” The past month I’ve been working on a school production of “Cabaret”. (Note: I go to a performing arts school specifically so this is an actual big show at a real theater.) I was cast as Frauline Schneider! Tonight was the first performance of three and it went perfectly line wise and alright blocking wise! It went really well! Afterward my sister had told me she was going to give me a ride-but in an hour after the show was over xc. I couldn’t stay at the theater so my director (who I’ve know for 4 years cause he’s also a teacher cx) said me and another kid who was there could hang out with him till she showed up ^_^ Honestly I’m just so great full to have a teacher like him??? He offered to buy us dinner??? But the place was to crowded so that’s alright cx and idk I’ve always wanted to make him proud, I really look up to this teacher and I never want to disappoint him ya know? So we just hung out in his car to stay warm, me him and the other kid, we talked about school and we talked about our animals cx Then the other kid had to leave. My teacher, let’s call him Clark, and I started talking about the future and he said how proud he was of me for coming this far into my work. He told me that it’s Enchanting too watch me act on stage, that my work has become so mature. And honestly it made me so happy. No it makes me so happy to hear that I’ve seemed to exceed his expectations because, lately I’ve felt like I’ve gotten no where, and that made me realize I do have the talent for Acting, and not just singing or visual arts. I’m just so fucking grateful to have teachers and people like him in my life, I know I can go back to them later in life and have their guidance. Cabaret has really been an experience, but it has been one of my best ones yet. It’s been incredible really. I hope I see this one day and remember this day again ^_^

My acting professor is such a meme and he’s super strict and holds us to really high standards but I appreciate him so greatly because he reminds me of the teachers at SPCPA and it hasn’t been since then that I had a GENUINELY GOOD acting teacher so I love him, and Mrs.Hart had a palpable focus on Emotions which I of course sponged up and devoured voraciously but this guy is so much more about actions and intents and beats which is what I’ve really been lacking in my acting education, and I kind of have to kick my own ass to force myself to abide by rules as opposed to gushing feelings and doing everything I can to simply bleed my heart out onstage, because as he knows and as my most respected contemporary has told me when she’s looked over my work, in the end it matters more if the person watching you feels it than if you feel it, so you have to show what you feel in a way that an audience can truly grasp onto instead of just *feeling* through yourself and leaving the audience with nothing tangible to really grab onto.

Mama suggested that after I graduate I should try to get an Internship at SPCPA and like ??? That’s actually a really good idea!!! It could be a good thing to preface HMI plus I have Connections™ and it’s not like I can count on anything and I CERTAINLY don't want to be stuck in Minnesota, but if I’m there I can do that and maybe take a few private lessons with Ms.Hart and have a bit of a moment before I actually have to find a full time job that I’m able to live off of in NYC. So maybe? But I can’t expect to hold my breath for it!
