Parents need to be less protective of children. They need to learn. Let your children help with supper. Give them knives to cut food with, let them stir a pot of soup. I am not saying send them off to the kitchen to make a meal. Let them help. Take them camping. Teach them to make a camp fire, let them strike a match or put hay over a small flame. Give them a small picket knife, give them a lighter or matches. If you had raised them right, they wont use them irresponsibly. If you give a lighter or a knife to a child and they cut their fingers off or they burn your house down, you hadn’t taught them the proper way to use that tool.
