The only thing more difficult than going through hard times yourself is when the world at large is also all going through hard times. But being the over thinker that I am, I can flip that coin and see how there’s also a camaraderie and connection to the suffering that we all share together. . . I’ve often shared with my children and my clients that when people are struggling to even support themselves, we must release our expectation that they can support us. After all, it is the healthiest most grounded person that can then reach out to support others. . . And so in this time when so many of us are feeling the tsunami of change, and we are feeling that fear of the unknown, we must remember to listen generously and without judgment. And we must speak lovingly, with a tenderness and compassion for all of us who are living with fear and uncertainty. . . One thing hasn’t changed.
