So, I just had my first phone call from someone who wanted to tell me she thought that taxidermy is disgusting and what I do is wrong. She is going to report me to trading standards and to environmental health. I can't see what trading standards have to do with anything (except that maybe they don't meet *her* standards), and environmental health won't have a problem as all animals are food grade and kept in dedicated freezers. I have £5M public liability cover and am supported by the Guild of Taxidermists and the Artists-Network. Most people who don't like the stuff I do just move on, so I must applaud this girls drive to call me and complain. It's just a shame she didn't bother doing any research beforehand as her arguments were childish and inane. Things like "Would you taxidermy your grandmother?". I mean, seriously? Regardless, I still spoke to her for almost 5 minutes. Answered all her questions politely (apart from laughing at the grandmother one) and thanked her for her call.
