Ben rolled over onto his stomach. The cold of the tile floor soothed his forehead slightly, but he still felt terrible. That was the last time he was ever going out drinking again, no matter what he was offered.

Ben leaned his head against his hand, staring aimlessly out at the landscape. In the past couple of days there had been nothing out there for him to really watch. It was a whole bunch of the same thing. A few times he even found himself nodding off. He figured it was better than being inside, being forced into some kind of conversation with another person. Some of the people caught onto his wish to be alone. Others had yet to learn.
When seeing the unfamiliar group of bandits scurry onto the deserted parking lot, Ben sat up. He frowned, then took a hold of his sniper rifle, prepared to shoot if he had to. Carver had made himself clear about strangers, and he was sure bandits were not an exception.
"That's close enough."

Ben didn’t know what drove Carver to keeping the group of bandits at Howe’s, but he couldn’t say that he was disappointed about the choice. He’d lost track of how long he had stayed up with Travis, just catching up. Having a normal conversation with someone he actually enjoyed being around…that was something he really missed.
He sat back, leaning against the wall. His eyes slowly began to close. When he felt Travis’ head on his shoulder he didn’t wake up, but his eyes opened as the bandit slid so his head lay in the other’s lap.
There were a few moments where Ben groggily blinked at his old crush. A tired smile came across his face, and gently he stroked Travis’ hair before falling asleep again.
