The federal government is promising to open up permanent residency for foreign doctors working in Canada as temporary foreign residents in order to tackle the doctor shortage across the country. Immigration Minister Lena Diab announced the policy shift in Toronto Monday, saying 5,000 spots for international doctors would be opened over and above current immigration levels. "Many of these doctors are already treating patients in our communities. We cannot afford to lose them," Diab said. The plan involves creating a new express entry category for foreign doctors starting in 2026 for physicians with at least one year of Canadian work experience over the last three years who currently have a job offer.

Helia
I transed Helia's gender btw she's a girl to me <3

Not technically a specialist but who cares lol
So, obviously, the Winx Reboot is a burning pile of shit and lazy writing for a plethora of reasons, but I'm especially incensed over the oversimplification of the plot. Especially when it comes to the schools.
Suddenly, Cloud Tower is a thing of the past, and while Red Fountain is still standing, you'll often find Specialists in Alfea either way because of a series of special courses?
Okay, leaving aside how unnecessary that is because Saladin, you know, Red Fountain's headmaster, is a wizard himself so it would have made more sense if his own school offered magic courses, by focusing most of the action in Alfea, they're robbing the story of so much!
Where's the world-building? Where's the chance to explore the other schools and all the missions taking place outside of Alfea? Where's the different aesthetics that make the world so vast and rich? Because the three schools were super important, especially during the first three seasons. Cloud Tower in particular was a huge plot-relevant setting countless times!
-The Winx went there to retrieve Stella's ring.
-Bloom and Sky returned to learn more about her past and got tricked, kick-starting their distance that would result in Bloom fighting Diaspro and learning the truth.
-The girls had to attend classes for a while in an effort to protect its part of the Codex.
-Valtor brainwashed the witches and turned the school into his headquarters...
And so on, and so forth.
Naturally, with the new direction the show is taking, we can bid all that goodbye. As well as all the plot-points taking place in Red Fountain.
And now you're telling me the Trix are attending Alfea alongside the rest of the witches because their school is no more???? That's just plot convenience and Rainbow refusing to use the money their blatant AI saved them on creating more backgrounds. How many times did the witches had to rebuild their school in the original, yet they always returned because it was their home?
And then there's Red Fountain!
I haven't watched the reboot and I most likely won't, but something tells me the Specialists' school is barely featured (if at all), and it certainly doesn't show the guys' rooms, or the arena, or the dragons... I'd be surprised if a single one of their teachers actually made a comeback.
And don't get me started on Red Fountain's re-opening in season 2! That was epic!
They really took all the fun out of the school setting just because they were too lazy to render more buildings in CGI...
I think the show in no way captured just how hard season 3 was on the Specialists. I mean, obviously they were barely treated as nothing more than love interests, but season 3 broke these boys.
Sky was spelled and manipulated to the point where he had no idea what reality was. Coming out of that must have been terrifying. Having no clue of what's real or who to trust, it must have taken him such a long time to start feeling like he had somehwat control over his life again. And knowing his parents didn't even recognise the state and pain he was in only makes it more painful.
Brandon was captured and treated as a traitor by the realm he spent his entire life fighting for. Growing up as a child soldier, he was taught that the only thing he was good for was being Sky's meat shield. But at the moment his best friend needs him the most, he gets thrown into a prison cell for wanting to help him.
Timmy's grief over losing Tecna gets a surprising amount of recognition in the show, I'll give them that. But I still think the show moved on too fast from the fact that everyone assumed Tecna to be dead. The sleepless nights trying to find her, his refusal to come to terms with what happened... Even after finding her, that shit stays with you.
Riven is the only one that caught somewhat of a break in season 3. Him and Musa are doing better and he's finally learning to let the people around him into his life. However, seeing Darcy once again trying to take over the world, hurting the people he loves, must rip open a wound that he's tried to stitch up about a million times. He'll forever feel guilty for his actions in season 1, and Darcy will forever be a reminder of that.
So @hesztia16 inspired me to think about makeup and specialists
I think the only person who would use makeup as a daily thing would be helia. You know those male kpop idols with soft makeup? For example Hwang hyunjin from stray kids! So this would be helia's makeup with longer hair obviously
Sky would have a minimalistic skin care routine just to make sure his skin isn't a landmine of acne. Brandon and Stella have elaborate skincare routines and they'd do it together :3
Riven won't really give a shit about his skin. He has small bumps on his skin and it's a little rough, he doesn't really care. Musa likes it, she thinks it makes him look ruggedly handsome.
Nabu is basically
yeah. he does that. He has a 3-in-1 soap that works as an effective stella repellant, she's horrified by it. But somehow it works and his skin is flawless.
Timmy slaps on some moisturizer and calls it a day he has dry skin like me lmao
Oh look, the specialists are here!
But wait-
Something doesn't add up...
