Hey, dear! I love your art <3 It's beautiful and I can never get enough of it <3. I'm looking into buying a screen tablet, but the cintiq companion is so darn expensive. I've noticed you're using a surface pro and your bf has the said companion. Which one do you like more? Is surface a good replacement for a companion? Hey! Thanks so much for the ask! I honestly like the surface pro better. Not because it's mine but because the companion is so sensitive! I have to turn off the touch when I'm using it a lot of the time because my hand will accidentally touch something and 80000 menus will pop up or the screen will scroll somewhere else.
I do like the color on the companion, it's closer to anything else I've use tho, and how crisp it is. Also how much bigger the screen is, having that much screen space to work on makes it a lot easier to draw. I have an old cintiq 12wx on my desktop(whenever it'll get here lol) and the difference is a lot! Like you wouldn't think it makes much of a difference but it does!
Another thing I dislike is how heavy the cintiq is, I work on my lap a lot. I have worked that way with tablets since I could draw on a computer. And having the cintiq constantly sink into my tummy really hurts, like to the point I get so into my drawing when I get ready to take a break it's almost like having my stomach been punched lol I love the surface for that, it's really portable when I need it to be, and the battery life is good! The one thing it's missing is express keys, it makes drawing A LOT faster, but I don't like them on the companion! There aren't a lot like on the 12wx. There's a thing called Autodock that I have that helps, but using the touch screen for it makes it a little annoying.
I just hope if you do get a screen tablet, if it's a surface you don't run into the same scare as me lol But I doubt it, my friend has one and she's doing A-OK with it!
