With “War of the Laurels” finished, I now have three on-going stories. And yet all my brain wants to do is provide me with ideas and pairings for new stories that I should start instead of finishing the three I’ve already started.

Covers for one of the best fanfiction I have ever read.

It’s an AU where Domeric Bolton is bethroted to Sansa Stark, @spectre4hire-blog is the creator.
ASOIAF AU ficlet: The sun will not set on me
Elia Martell gets her happy ending. Jaime does too. Elia x Jaime
Unbowed, unbent, unbroken, those were her family's words.
Those were the words her ancestors gave Aerys' when they thought a dragon could tame the sun. No fire burns hotter than the sun, not even dragonflame. The Targaryens learned that the hard way. It was time for their descendants to be reminded that Dorne was not like the other Kingdoms.
Our knees do not bend so easily.
"Was the letter sent?"
"It was."
"Thank you," She was embracing him. "Thank you," her voice was thick with relief. Elia looked up into the green eyes of Jaime Lannister and his warm smile made her heart flutter in a way that Rhaegar's never could.
Theirs was a chaste courtship. Unlike her husband, she had not strayed from their marriage bed despite the temptations that Jaime stirred within her these past few months. Or her own yearning to numb that cold ache of loneliness that nestled itself deep inside her.
She was not sure she could pick the exact moment when it happened.
Was it when Rhaenys cried out for Jaime instead of her father after a nightmare?
Or how he never hesitated to pick up a crying Aegon to soothe him back to sleep.
Or how he would chase a giggling Rhaenys in the godswood where he always looked to be having as much fun as her.
The young man whose head was filled with dreams of glory had been left behind in the war to become more nursemaid than knight. It would make most men bitter, but not him.
He had never complained. He had never withdrawn from them. Jaime Lannister was there whenever he could be. His presence was part pillar and part shield for her.
I would not be here without him.
Elia and Jaime had been abandoned together. They were trapped together. They were tormented by the Mad King together.
But soon we will triumph together.
*******
She had seen Lord Tywin sit upon the very seat she found herself in more times then she could count. Now, it was her who was siting on the Iron Throne with him standing below her.
"Your son has come to me and has asked to be removed from the kingsguard," It was a memory she found herself drawing strength from while she was perched atop this monstrous throne of melted swords. “He had one condition."
"Which is?"
"He will only resign from the kingsguard if he can take me as his wife," Elia delivered the news with a neutral look despite the warmth and happiness that bubbled up within. A font that had been overflowing in her chest these past few days.
It was true she was still a widow, who was expected to grieve for Rhaegar. Elia wore black out of duty not devotion. In her heart and mind she had buried Rhaegar long ago.
"It would be an honor to join our houses, Princess," He delicately observed. "However, it was said you were infertile. My apologies, Princess I mean no disrespect or insult."
"I am pleased to say that has been proven to be an unfound rumor, my lord." She allowed herself a polite smile when she added, "It has been confirmed by several maesters who serve some of the greatest lords in the realm that I am once more able to bear children."
She did not like the man below her, but Tywin Lannister would not rule the Westerlands forever. A son between Jaime and I will be the future Lord of the Rock as well as Aegon's half brother.
"I accept, princess."
You had no choice, but she smiled all the same.
Why did you decide to pair Elia and Jaime, I love both of them, we don't know much about Elia but I like her more than Lyanna. I always thought that the she-wolf was a hypocrite, I mean she never wanted to marry Robert and it is understandable, but then she run away with a married man, I have zero respect for Rhaegar. Another thing that I find really intriguing is how things will develope for Ned and Brandon. It will be very difficult for Ned.
Whenever I write a story I try to include as many Au ideas/’what ifs’, pairings, etc that I can while maintaining the story’s integrity. The AU idea/pairing has to work in the setting I’m writing. I just can’t cram some stuff in b/c I really want to see/write it. I need restraint and the ideas/pairings need to be within reason.
Elia and Jaime was a pairing I wanted to write. I also wanted a story where Elia wasn’t married to Rhaegar. So there’s an idea and a pairing that I wanted to explore and this story gave me the opportunity in what I think is a believable way. I already had the perfect canon start off point since Elia and Oberyn do visit Jaime at Casterly Rock. Joanna being alive allowed her to point Jaime towards Elia instead of Cersei.
In regards to Lyanna, she seems to be one of those characters where everyone has a strong opinion about her. Forgive me, if I really don’t want to wade into all that. I can’t really comment on the future of Rhaegar, Lyanna, Brandon, and Ned in ‘A Dragon’s Roar b/c of spoilers.
I hope I answered that well enough for you.

The Good News:
A Dragon’s Roar is less than 10 chapters before it’s complete.
War of the Laurels is less than 10 chapters before it’s complete.
The Slytherin Reformation is less than 5 chapters before it’s complete.
Our Blades Are Sharp 2 is planned to be around 30-40 chapters so it’s about 1/3rd or 1/4th of the way there.
The chapters are outlined and the stories are mapped out.
The Bad News:
I have to write them. I have to turn all these outlines into chapters since a device hasn’t been invented yet to do it for me.
Sad to hear there's only 10 chapters left in A dragon's roar. I believe you also mentioned that there will be no sequel as well? Can't believe that story will coming to an end so soon as it feels like we've only just gotten to the climax. I suppose its understandable as once Rhaegar is defeated there isn't really much of story to tell. Out of curiosity what new projects will you be perusing afterwards? Thanks
Correct, there won’t be a sequel for ‘A Dragon’s Roar.’
There are new pairings that I’m interested in writing/exploring, but in all honesty I may be done writing by then.
Thanks for asking,

Working on the next OBAS 2:RR chapter and I feel like I could just write the entire chapter on Sam and Domeric just discussing history and music.
If anyone’s interested I posted ‘The Sun will not set on me’ on AO3.
It is the complete version since what I posted on here a few months ago was trimmed down some to make it a ficlet under 1,000 words while what I put up on Archive is just under 3,000 words.
You can find it here
