With managers I didn’t like, I had a habit of doing exactly what they told me, often to the detriment of the entire operation because our managers were idiots. Most people just nodded their heads and then ignored them, or tweaked what the managers wanted done so it would actually work. Not I. I made sure I followed orders precisely, especially when it was a terrible idea.

His sword, Spellweaver, would probably be it. Almost anything else, he could lose and shrug off, but Spellweaver symbolizes a whole lot of important stuff for him. Plus, it’s a real sword that he can really use to hack up monsters.
Summoning fire is cool but there was nothing like the first time he could fight alongside Jael and Alistair with a real blade.
Yeah, story time, I was having a heartfelt convo with two of my friends, a gay man and a lesbian, respectively, and my male friend says, "But you're queer," in response to something I said and I just felt so...taken aback, like, I don't actually mind the word that much, although I prefer to say I'm bi, but I had never given any indication that I was okay with being called that. And this was coming from a normally very socially conscious person 😕 I hate that it's become this umbrella term.

Phedre/Ysandre (as well as OT3ing with Drustan) I mean I ship Phedre w everybody but the bond she has with Ysandre just kills me and I feel like she’s very clearly in love w her even if it’s a one sided thing. And I really don’t think it is one-sided tbh, I keep thinking of Ysandre being the one to ensure Phedre’s marque was finally completed and her reaction to seeing it, and then the utter shock and betrayal she felt when Phedre called in her boon and adopted Imriel. Then all of the heartwrenching parallels in how they were both raised in a world of intrigue and didn’t really have childhoods because of it, the fact that their lives are forever intertwined for the simple reason that the man who raise Phedre and Ysandre’s fathers were star-crossed lovers who never had a chance, etc. There’s just SO MUCH THERE with them, it hurts.
I mean christ they even allude to people shipping it in universe or believing that they’re an item, how am I not supposed to ship that. lol

Hyacinthe/Sibeal was so bullshitty the most bullshit ship in the world lol like it actually makes me angry. You’d think I would be all over a ship where people are brought together by dreams/visions/wevs but this one just was so blatantly a case of getting him out of the way so Phedre and Joscelin could be together, which is extra weird and offputting for a series where bisexual polyamory is basically a given (at least in theory, but I’ve ranted about that before). and ngl it seemed extra insulting to me that the one non white man of note in the whole trilogy who isn’t a villain literally got put on an island to keep him away from the white people he had chemistry with, w a character who had barely any role at all and barely even had a name up to that point and p much just existed to marry him.
also, in hindsight it was probably a giant red flag that the het ships were gonna start getting stupid and forced in a hurry the way that they did in the Imriel books (see below)

Imriel/any woman he gets paired w p much ranges from soft notp to something I could have easily put up there in highkey notp lol. most of them are just bland tho and tbh i will forever be disappointed at the lack of serious sga ships in the series in general but esp. in Imri’s books where he had so much gd chemistry with basically every dude. I feel like JC went on and on and on trying to make fetch happen with Imriel/Sidonie especially, only to write like, one offhanded scene with Imriel and [Mavros/Maslin/Eamonn/Lucius/even that Shahrizai dude’s face he stole’s boyfriend] that had about 500 times more genuine sexual tension. and frankly his entire arc w Maslin in Justice was more believable as the start of a romance than everything that led up to either of their ships w Sidonie and I’m kinda convinced that’s why Maslin literally got packed to Siberia w that random Russian chick at the end of Justice lol like pls.

it breaks my heart a lot that Alcuin/Delaunay became canon without Phedre, but at the same time I understand why it didn’t happen and why people would be weirded out by it considering Phedre hadn’t made her marque yet when Delaunay got with Alcuin. and I know some ppl find Alcuin/Delaunay sketchy to begin with and understand that. so like I get it and I keep it to myself and I wouldn’t necessarily go looking for content or headcanoning shit.
I’m gonna cheat and give another here and say Phedre/Barquiel bc that’s my trash otp if ever I had one tbh
