Captured some spectra of a bright Wolf-Rayet star tonight! It was only upon taking this picture that I realized how ridiculous my astrophotography rig can look... but hey, it works!! There is enough information in this photo to identify the exact Wolf-Rayet star I was photographing--- any guesses? Don't worry, there's only less than 200 to pick from (that we know of here in the Milky Way)! Notes from day 1 of Sacramento Mountains Spectroscopy Workshop 2! I've made tons of new friends, and while most of the presentations were quite basic (to be expected in the first day) I thouroughly enjoyed a presentation by Dr. David Whelan on the spectra and physical conditions of intermediate and high-mass stars (mostly main sequence). The best part has certainly been the new friends made, both those I've never seen before and many with surprising connections. Amateur astronomy is a small world! This is some photography reference material I've been collecting towards establishing some real-world examples of wavelength particles, radiation damage to physical objects, projection, light wave frequencies associated with various optical perspectives, and I've also collected some RGB and HSV values off of an iPhone 7 plus photo of a photo. It's a quick fix to get approximate values, that's enough of what I'd like to work with, at the moment.
