Hello! 👋 What are your thoughts/hopes for the acags Christmas special? Everyone is still worrying about Dorothy but so much happened in S6, I don’t see how any romance could happen with her?! 🙈

I cannot see any romance being rekindled between Dorothy and Siegfried at the moment. The synopsis for the Christmas Special says that an "old friend turns up and surprises Audrey and Siegfried" which I find really interesting. Because it's a surprise for both of them which tells me that they did not invite her or expect her to show up.
That's one thing to consider.
The other is the simple fact that we have not heard about Dorothy or from Dorothy since the beginning of series 2 when she sent a postcard to Siegfried. That was the last sign of life from her. She was never mentioned again and has not been a part of their lives since early 1938. Is it then likely that Siegfried would start something with her after not having seen her for 8 years (Christmas 1937)? He has changed, he has grown, he has learned to love again. Meaning he has opened his heart and allowed himself to love the members of his found family, something he never thought he would have. He went from "another person for me to worry about" to not being able to function without Audrey because he missed her so much that he suffered from a broken heart (let's be honest! Tristan said he was worse than how he was after Evelyn's untimely death). Would he throw all that away to have an affair with Dorothy? I cannot see it. Especially not after all the progress we have seen in series 6. The way Audrey and Siegfried slowly patched up their fragile, broken relationship piece by piece, very patiently, very carefully tells us so much about them. They really need one another more than they would both admit openly. And I cannot see Siegfried breaking the trust he has just rebuild between himself and Audrey.
Personally I can only see Dorothy as a catalyst for Audrey. An outsider who she has not seen for a while and who will now be a witness to how much Siegfried and Audrey have changed compared to the last time she has seen them. Dorothy told Siegfried to take care of Audrey. And she also told him that she hopes the old Siegfried gets out again every now and then. I think the old Siegfried has almost fully returned. But not thanks to Dorothy, but thanks to Audrey! When she sees that she will hopefully let Audrey know how lucky she can call herself to be friends with such a wonderful kind, caring man. And I wonder if Dorothy might see something between them that neither Siegfried nor Audrey have yet noticed. Maybe she will make Audrey realise how much more Siegfried means to her... maybe. Hopefully.
