Gabriel didn’t just threaten to kill Felix, he actually attempted it.

With what we know now, putting the akuma in his ring was a death sentence.

If Felix hadn’t rejected the akuma then not only would Ladybug and Chat Noir have to break the ring but when they did they would have found both a feather and the akuma and WHO WANTS TO BET THEY WOULD HAVE HAD THE KNOWLEDGE TO NOT PURIFY BOTH.

Poor kid had to fight for his life, literally. We know how hard it is to reject the akumas but he didn’t have a choice, did he?

Also, consider this both proof that Gabriel was aware of this fact AND proof that Gabriel is just so so stupid..so stupid.

not even sure how much i believe everything felix says in representation tbh.

like. is it just me or was the whole point of all that just to get ladybug to confront and kill gabriel. and he was using kagami to win over maribug's trust. does he actually have feelings for her, or was it just so he could make those connections between them and adrienette to really tug at marinette's heartstrings and get her riled up.

felix is a reputable liar from what appears to be a family of famous actors. he's a good storyteller, yeah, but good storytelling usually involves a fair bit of embellishment and he knows that. it's not like maribug needs to know the whole truth anyway for him to get her to the endgame.

to be fair, i don't think he's lying about caring for adrien. even if that love is mixed up in a lot of resentment and anger. i don't think he's lying about colt treating him horribly, that's long been implied. i just wouldn't be surprised if almost everything else was a lie.

If Miraculous were a smarter show than it ends up being in execution, I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be the case. However, like I said in a previous ask, the material weight given to certain narrative elements shows how much the writers want you to think about those elements and their implications—At no point in s6 have we ever been given the indication that Felix was leaving stuff out or didn't know the full story.

The in-universe context of the play was to tell Marinette about The Important Backstory. The narrative purpose of the play was... to tell the audience about The Important Backstory. Felix is, as far as season 6 is concerned, a good guy and worth being trusted on his own nonexistent merits now, so since there is no material weight to his previous lies we can't plausibly say that he's even meant to be characterized as a liar anymore.

Unfortunately, sometimes in our own efforts to make sene of things, we put more thought into this show than the actual crew does. Even if Marinette doesn't need to know the whole truth, the actual purpose of the section was to tell us the whole truth and there's no deeper intended meaning than that.
