My major's name changed from Speech Communications to Communication Studies.

My advisor explained to me that they changed it so it'd sound better, and because we don't simply study speeches and/or speaking, but all that encompasses communication.

but I'm probably going to fuck with my teacher.

She basically challenged me anyway. 

"Do not memorize your speech, I'll be able to tell."

So I said I'd try to do 'extemporaneous delivery'

There's really nothing extemporaneous about being given a week to rehearse a speech.

Oh well, if I don't memorize the first one (out of respect to my tiny professor) the other ones will definitely be memorized.
