Does anyone find that searching for speech topics doesn’t help? For me, I think it’s because we aren’t passionate about the topics we find.
pay close attention to different topics that you/others bring up in conversation that piques your interest
pay attention to anything you’ve debated about/argued over recently
pay attention to topics that you can talk on and on about
look at the news if you’re really stuck, see if anything catches your eye (Timeline? is a cool source for news that doesn’t usually get the spotlight)
Eventually, you’ll see trends in the topics that frequently crop up. You can turn almost any topic into a persuasive speech if there’s two opinions or more. The best persuasive speeches are those that you can’t find an immediate answer to.
If you’re okay with random (persuasive and informational) topics, there’s a list under the cut! Some of these topics may be sensitive and not for you! Make sure that your school allows these topics. You can turn most of these into persuasive speeches and vice versa.
P.S- these are geared towards middle schoolers and possibly high schoolers!
