Today’s Busta of the Day is: The Sphere Grid from Final Fantasy X
My Diablo-like journey has led me to playing Path Of Exile. Holy shit PoE is really, really good. I was thrilled to see the "Move Only" skill I could assign to left-click. The per skill "Always Attack Without Moving" toggle is so good. PoE runs great on Steam Deck, and the controller support is killer, too (if awkward for inventory management).
The sphere grid was really intimidating at first, but I got a handle on it by focusing on the nearby larger nodes I wanted and slowly checking out the other stuff near those. As intimidating as it can be, the Skill Gem system is excellent. I'm free to try spells out and unequip them if I don't like them! There's no danger of over-investing in a particular skill, because my permanent choices are buffing wide categories of actions, not specific actions. Support Gems are also a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying Flame Wall + Spell Cascade.
The Veilguard ability tree not only looks like the FFX sphere grid it also SOUNDS like the FFX sphere grid, which activates pleasure centers in my brain I didn't know I possessed.
