6)Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*

Yeah, I think so! Not for FMAB, but for another fandom! Before I joined Tumblr, my main OTP from Psycho Pass was Shinkane. But THEN...I was browsing the Psycho Pass tag and saw GinoAka art. I didn’t even realize GinoAka was a possibility until I saw fanart on Tumblr! Then I started thinking back on s2 and the movie and how supportive Gino was when Kou wasn’t there. Soon I started shipping GinoAka as my secondary ship, and now it’s my main fucking ship for the series. Fucking Kou left the country to start up a terrorist organization that doesn’t do shit; he’s not there for Akane! You know who is there for Akane? GINO.

7)Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?*

Yeah. People aren’t gonna be too happy about this, but Akagami no Shirayukihime. I used to like it a lot, but once the anime came out, I realized how....bland and unoriginal the storyline felt to me. And to be honest, the fandom also ruined my opinion of the show. There were people hailing Shirayuki as a strong, independent, red-haired heroine, when all of her decisions revolve around what will make Zen happy. Not to mention calling her a super strong heroine is trampling on Yona from AkaYona and Nakaba from Reimei no Arcana, who are both absolutely amazing red-haired shoujo heroines. 

I also--on more than one occasion--encountered Shirayuki fanboys who called Yona a “slut” or “whore” (literally) because she’s surrounded by male characters. Honestly, that alone was enough to make me intensely dislike the fandom and the story. I know a fandom shouldn’t have the power to make me hate a manga/anime, but sometimes it happens.

18)Does not shipping something ‘popular’ mean you’re in denial and/or biased?

Hahahahah NAH dude. Well, it could indicate bias, but not denial. Sometimes you don’t like two characters’ dynamic together; sometimes you think they’re moving too quickly; sometimes you see their relationship as toxic, etc. Or sometimes you think they’re just better off as friends or enemies. I think accusing someone of being in denial and/or biased because they don’t ship something ‘popular’ is a much bigger issue. >_>

19)What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?

22)Popular character you hate?

You specified FMAB, so let’s see.... I honestly don’t dislike most of FMAB’s characters, but I strongly dislike Wrath. There isn’t any one thing that makes me hate him; I just have no reason to like him. He needlessly kills a lot of people, exploits his wife for personal gain, hurts Roy, kills Fu and Buccaneer, makes Lan Fan suffer, and plays a pivotal role in, as a CinemaSins video once put it, “a planetary Holocaust business.” I get that he’s a badass, and his fight scene with Buc and Fu is my favorite in the whole show, but I still hate him.

“Puffy” came from a nickname someone gave me via the internet. It was on Wattpad, where my url was justapuff; and I wanted this to be a writing blog, which is why I added “writing” to it. My avatar...it’s silly and December-themed.

Getting super excited about Christmas lights. Like, I don’t care where I am. I see Christmas lights, I’m grinning from ear-to-ear and bouncing up and down asking, “Can we see the light? Can we drive around to see the lights? When are we putting up our lights??”

21. What I love most about myself.

My creativity!! I have come a long way with my writing and drawing. I love both and work harder on writing; and it's showing. I hope to get even better. For so many other aspects, I feel that my creativity is my best attribute. Therefore it's what I love most about myself!

38. My childhood career choice.

Becoming a professional cook! I loved the idea of owning my own business, traveling, and being able to cook what I want. It was an awesome dream--still is. It was what I always said when I was asked this same question. Either that or "I dunno." Now, I don't want that as my career choice, but I still love to cook (as well as bake).

Lemon Tart: How many languages can I speak? My main is english but I also speak Brazilian Portuguese (not fluently, but I’m working on getting there and I can get by) and I can also get by with most latin-based languages! I made my way through Italy just from learning phrases from playing Assassin’s Creed! 

Chocolate Chip Cookie: How has your life changed this last year? Oof, thats a tough one to think about. I think I’ve started coming to terms with my mental illness and am finally recognizing what triggers my depression and learning to manage it in a healthy way. I’ve also come to realize that I don’t travel enough and I need to leave town more often than I do. As high school drifts further and further into the past I find myself losing social skills ahaha, I honestly haven’t made any new friends since the ones I met in school (who are still dear to me) but I’d like to meet new people.

30)Does anyone hate you?

I always jokingly say that a lot of roy//ed and die-hard y//oi fans definitely hate me. I’m sure there are some roy//ed fans out there who have talked shit about me in chat before, and that just… tickles my fancy

anyway. In all seriousness, I think it’s quite possible there are a few people from real life who dislike me too. I do try to be a good friend, but I also really don’t handle strong emotions well, so too much stress = me spontaneously combusting. I’m trying to work on that though! But I’m sure that a few people really dislike me for that. 

60)Do you hate anyone?

Just my dad and D//onald T//rump!! oh AND Ieyasu and Nobunaga from SLBP, don’t test me!!

76)Are you a jealous person?

;; I really am, especially regarding Kojuro… It’s weird because I want more people to recognize what a good man he is and what a perfect dude he is, especially compared to the big assholes in the game. But then when I see other girls who are actually obsessed with him, I get really defensive.

There was this event kind of thing a few months ago where you had to post a screenshot of your avatar’s fashion, and each of the lords would actually comment on a random two or three of them! Like, as if they were directly addressing them!! I was fiercely jealous of the girls who got direct compliments from Kojuro. ngl I was a little sad, actually; my heart hurt for a few days ;_;

80)Name something you have to do tomorrow?

I gotta go to work! I have to write a conditional loop for my stored procedure, then I have to test it. And then I need to buy eggs and basil. Play some Pokemon. And keep not snacking! :)

Maple - Is there a hobby / skill that you’ve always wanted to try but never did?

I wish I could play the piano! I’ve played the violin since I was 3, but piano has always seemed so much cooler to me. It can be played by itself and sound really good (unlike a violin, which needs some kind of accompaniment), and even though there isn’t as much texture to the sound (aka vibrato), the melodies can be so much faster and more complex!! I have a playlist on my phone of just piano OST, and it helps calm me down when I’m stressed <3

Amber - Share an unpopular opinion that you may have.

Hmmm I think most of my opinions are popular-ish...? At least like most of my opinions about politics or whatever else. But I definitely have some unpopular anime opinions! I guess one that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is harems and reverse harems. Harem and reverse harem anime are generally perceived as really shallow, and a lot of them definitely are. However, I really feel like the male love interests in reverse harems are given better development/design/etc than their female counterparts in harems. 

Personally I feel that a lot of harem girls are shallow and mostly exist for fanservice. Whereas a lot of reverse harem guys are portrayed as appealing for things other than just sex appeal. They’re smart, they’re polite, they’re good at cooking, they’re talented singers, etc etc. To me it feels like they have a lot more depth than the girls in harem anime (because sexism, obviously). 

Ghost - Is there someone that you miss having in your life?

Yes, definitely :( I reflect quite often on my high school days, and I miss my best friend from high school. Our friendship fizzed out in the few months after graduating high school, and I’m inclined to believe it was at least partially my fault (just objectively speaking, not in a self-deprecating way). I would like to ask her about it, but I just don’t really know how to even begin that conversation. I’m not really ready to go back to that time right now either, but eventually I definitely will. I like having closure on this stuff--especially if I can reflect 3-4 years later and recognize mistakes I made--and I think talking to her would be an important learning experience. I’ve done that with two other best friends I lost in high school, and I think it was a good decision. :)
