Blake walked towards the cottage, a goat skin cask of rum slung over his shoulder. He’d visited the distillery and paid a few doubloons extra to get a bagful; enough to fill two of the decanters at home. It had been a long day; his loving father had put him on babysitter duty at the new jail that had been set up for any lost boys that had been caught creeping around the port. He despised it more than anything Hook had had him do in the past; Blake couldn’t stand those kids. One of them mimicked his every move and word for a full hour before he finally went in behind the bars and slapped a rag around her mouth and head; from there the lost one made faces at him until his shift was over. He couldn’t wait to see Lu; she was complete respite after the worst days.
