🎀WRAITH ARC IS HERE I REPEAT WRAITH ARC IS FINALLY HERE🎀

Tbh I really thought they were going to skip over Wraith Arc and go straight into Rebellion and I’m soooo fucking happy they didn’t! As we know from previous posts I adore wraith arc and it never got the love it deserved from Magia Record so I’m so glad it’s finally getting more attention. It’s adds so much to Homura’s story and a wider audience now gets to experience it!

And there’s so much added with Magia Day that I’m excited to talk about, so let’s just jump right in shall we!!!

Bow Homura is a Void- Attacker and that makes complete sense to me. She’s lost a part of herself during Wraith Arc & looses her magic, so Void-type is a good call back to that. Attacker just makes sense for a post-glasses Homura. We never got this unit from Magia Record and I was really hoping they’d do it justice and they really have. She’s a great attacking unit and I got lucky and was able to get her in a few 10-pulls.

I figured we’d be getting a big unit soon so I skipped out on Ui, Eternal Sakura, and Mel and I’m very glad I did. No shade to those characters at all but I love Wraith Arc and saving up was a good idea.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the artwork for her portraits. They’re absolutely gorgeous and really gives off the futuristic/morbid tone that Wraith Arc has💜🎀

They did such a good job with the Wraiths! They don’t have much screen time and what little pictures we do have of them are in black/white so finally getting them in color has been such a treat.

I’m glad we got clearer views of the Mutant Wraiths- they were such a cool & dangerous addition to the Wraiths and I love how eerie all their designs are. This definitely extends to “Wraithdoka”. The concept of a Wraith that took some of Homura’s magic/memories of Madoka and become her own being is such a fun idea and Wraithdoka really becomes her own character by the end of the story.

I really hope we get her as a playable character in the future! AI/Love also gets some more love and I think she may play a role in Walpurgis No Kaiten / Walpurgisnacht Raising.

Witch fans all around the world have REJOICED! We’ve waited so long and now we have the Spindle Witch in color. After the amazing work they’ve done with implementing Suleika & Latria I was hoping they’d do her justice and they sure did. We got her name for the first time “Kriemhild Fausut”!!! She’s the Avatar of Calamity for Kriemhild Gretchen and is a reference to the work of Goethe's Faust; just like so much of Madoka Magica. It definitely elevates her even more in my mind and I hope we get more of her in the future.

NEW CHARACTERS!!! Sumire & Fuka are both great designs and I’m glad we’re getting Magia Exedra original characters. Apparently they lived in Mikazuki Villa before Yachiyo & Co. so I’m already invested in what happened to them.

I personally like Sumiere’s design a bit more but they’re both great, the alternative/punk esthetic combined with the mullet is something we’ve never seen before so Fuka also stands out! Keep an eye it in Late October for their story!

You’re able to take photos either Bebe now- such a big Rebellion tease and seeing her nighthawk confirms to me that Nighthawk is Kuroe. Oh and more Home Screen customization is nice as well.

Overall I’m happy with what we got from Magia Day 2025 and I they continue to surprise me, so I look forward to what the rest of the year has to offer. Now excuse me while I go play through Wraith arc!💜💜💜

So I actually had coloured Kriemhild 2 and her familiars in my files but they never got posted??

So here's my originals and the new official colours. It took the addition of colour for me to realise that she is only meant to portray madoka and homura, not the whole quintet which... kinda annoys me. I hate when the series is whittled down to just madoka and homura, the whole quintet is important, okay? I'd prefer to keep her as a quintet combination.

I feel like I'll have to tweak these designs again to fit the new colours but eh, here they are

Little ramble about Wraith Arc's witch (now that we have more info about her thanks to Exedra)

As this post pointed out the Spindle Witch's official name is Kriemhild Fausut, a clear reference to Goethe's Faust, also mirroring Madoka's witch's name, Kriemhild Gretchen. In the aforementioned work, our protagonist is Faust, who makes a deal with Mephistopheles, a devil, in exchange for endless knowledge and later to win the love of the lady Gretchen, who meets a tragic end (partially because of Faust himself).

We can now notice how these three characters' story draws parallels with Homura (Faust) who made a cotract with Kyubey (Mephistopheles) in order to save Madoka (Gretchen). This adds in with the fact that the Spindle Witch is a amalgam of Madoka's witch and Homura's shield, which contains all of her memories from the time loops (thus making her a "prototype" for Homu's witch) and whose name clearly references Faust, with Madoka's witch's name, referencing Gretchen, thus making the romantic nature of madohomu undeniable.

It's both beautiful and sad how it's even more confirmed now that the relationship between Homu and Mado is far from platonic, but still destined to end in tragedy. Hope you all liked this little analysis from me!

Shes so beautiful, isnt she? The boss arena is so ethereal too. I love the towers in the bg that make it look like a castle. As much as im ‘ehhh’ about wraith arc, i am giving her infinite kisses. Heck, I even really liked the wraiths in this update and im not a big wraith guy. So heres your evidence that i dont complain about everything lol (its been a while since ive been told i complain too much anyway)
