I saw the movie last week and thought why not lego-fy it?
MK was born as a Stone Monkey, and afraid that he would break as much havoc as Wukong, the Heavenly Court/Nezha not only repress MK into a human body, but "gift" him a magical bandana that he can never take off
The bandana, instead of being like Wukong's circlet that would give him headaches, forces MK to be obedient
Instead of Wukong dying like the mom in the movie, he leaves to look for any solution that'll break the curse
MK grows up under Pigsy's care (even with the curse he somehow manages to mess up at work)
Jin and Yin take the place of the stepsisters but just as client demons who discovered his secret one day and decided to mess with him
DBK and PIF were sealed under a mountain, supposedly by Wukong, and no one has been able to free them yet. Prince Redson grows under the guidance of his parents' most trusted sworn brother, Azure Lion, who puts regulations on the different types of demons
Tang is ofc Pigsy's partner, a scholar who got turned into a talking book and guides MK in his quest
MK meets and befriends Mei. As a dragon, her people are meant to be protectors (usually of treasures) and are regarded on a higher status that other demons, being seen as more regal and powerful
Mei wants to be allowed to be an adventurer and find her own treasures instead of being the one guarding them
(Would take place of the Elf? Though she's practically the opposite of the original)
They also come across Spindrax (character from the lego sets), she was the Spider Princess until their territory was taken over by Azure Lion. Spider Demons as forced to work sewing clothes and stuff with their webs.
(Would take place of the Giants, where RedSon sees the wrongs of his Uncle)
There would be a scene where RedSon unknowingly orders MK to shut up, and MK does so because of the circlet. Red is concerned when it actually happens
MK singing Somebody To Love‼️‼️
After MK manages to break the curse/circlet, he returns to his monkey form, which is what makes RedSon feel betrayed as he thinks MK is taking care of "Wukong's Unfinished Business"
I'm still thinking up the details about it, but I wanted to share the au anyways.
