Singles club! Yarns spun/finished this week: rainbow from Nunoco's Nunopoly Smorgasbox; Gerbera from SpinJones; and Apple Blossom from SpinJones. Top two spun on a wheel and bottom spun on a spindle.
My first grown-up handspun yarn. Fiber is "Verdigris" by SpinJones on Etsy, spun and plied on spindles, 170 yards. And a baby skein of singles.
Had this mini-batt of Chintz from SpinJones on Etsy saved to spin on tonight. Making a thick and thin and noily lovely silly yarn. It's got merino, milk protein, silk, firestar, and more silk noil.
So I weighed the skein after I washed it and let it dry and it is 85g and 432 yards! I weighed the left over single mess and that was 10 grams… not sure what happened to the 5 grams, probably should have weighed the braid before I started! Anyway, I love the color and the squishiness of the finished yarn! #spin15aday #spin15aday2018challenge #tourdefleece2018 #tourdefleece #teamspin15aday2018 #spinnersofinstagram #spinjones #spinster (at MamaCimino)
I’ve never spun rom a batt before. Anyone care to give me some tips or advice? Two lovely batts from @spinjones. Thinking about saving these for spinning during the #tourdefleece... 🤔 #spinningyarn #spinningwool #woolbatt #spinjones #wemakeyarn #spin15aday #merinosilk (at "the shire")
