Swipe to see the finished yarn. I bought 4 oz of this beautiful blend of hand dyed Merino and Alpaca from @hummingbeefarm last year #fibreswest. Once I started to spin it, I decided I wanted to preserve the long runs of colour rather than plying it on itself so I decided to ply it with some Ashland Bay Merino in the colour Rose Quartz. I’m so pleased with how it turned out! The Rose Quartz is a much more subtle colour which lets the Humming Bee Farm colours dominate. The first skein is 500 yards and now I’m working on the second one. #handspunyarn #spinningtechniques #handspinningwool #hummingbeefarm #handdyedalpaca #fibreswest2018 #knittersofinstagram
This is how my "leftover dye" Merino I posted about yesterday is turning out. I split 1 half of it into very thin pieces and the other half into 4 thick pieces.
