another Estonian lace swatch. very scrungly boi

Maikellukese Kiri 2, aka Lily of the Valley Pattern 2, from Knitted Lace of Estonia by Nancy Bush. I like nupps, I think they're interesting. they can be frustrating to purl, true, but I do not understand why some people seem to fear them so much? btw the nupps in my swatch are 5 stitch nupps, not 7. the yarn I'm knitting with is more like a fingering weight, so 5 stitch nupps are easier to work while still looking good. if I was using laceweight, I'd make 7 stitch nupps. I really like the look of the gathered stitches too, they were fun to knit

I don't know how many of these swatches I'll knit, until I get bored maybe or I run out of this yarn. I might stick with the Estonian patterns or I might pull out some Shetland patterns, whatever looks interesting. swatches are very low pressure lace knitting, even with the really complicated patterns, because it's just a swatch and not an entire shawl. tinking back a row or pulling everything out and restarting is not fun but also isn't heartbreaking
