"Oops! Oh, pardon me! I almost ran right into you." Eliwood apologized somewhat flustered, carrying a photo album under his arm. He side-stepped, allowing Deirdre passage onto the train before him, "Please, ladies first."

Deirdre brushed her hair out of her face. “Oh no sir, I suspect I wasn’t paying attention…” She went up the train’s steps and turned back to face him. “Thank you…” She paused. “I’m terribly sorry, but I’ve never taken a train before… How do I find my seat?”

Eliwood watched as the woman navigated up the three steps, before stepping onto the platform of the train car that was utilized for entry. Once she had ascended without issue, he followed suit, pausing on the third step when her voice reached him with a question. The ginger-haired man stopped in his tracks, offering her a cordial smile.

“Is that so? Trains are quite relaxing, I assure you,” He replied, finally ascending the final step to stand beside her, “your seat shall be marked on your ticket. You’ll notice a train car number, followed by a seat number. If I may?” He held out his hand, waiting to receive her ticket. Once he acquired her seating information, he would be able to direct her with ease.

Eliwood traveled by train fairly often, as he enjoyed the scenic routes and the quite time for reading. In his case, he had brought along photos of his infant son, hoping to make a bit more progress with a scrapbook he was currently building.

Ethereal Danger [ Myrrh & Deirdre ]

Myrrh glances around the barracks. It’s bustling with heroes, but she moves away, heading for the main hall.

She hasn’t been here long—just long enough for her to become used to being called a hero and getting used to the idea of being summoned—but it still makes Myrrh wonder about this strange world.

Shaking her head, she wanders into the main hall. She keeps to herself, simply offering smiles to the other heroes who smile or stop for a moment to coo or worry about her.

There’s one unfamiliar face, glancing around the castle. Perhaps a newly summoned? Myrrh begins to approach her, but stops. She’s ethereally beautiful, yes, enough to stop anyone in their tracks, but that’s not why Myrrh freezes.

All that matters is the tome in her hands—it radiates with power and Myrrh’s skin tingles with forewarning. It’s magic meant to for killing dragons and manaketes.

“Stay away,” Myrrh gasps, scrambling back. “Stay away!”

(Hey, Deirdre mun here! I saw something about liondog puppies? I love dogs, even fictional ones, and I'm relatively new to FERP, so is there a thread somewhere that talks about them?)

IN THIS HOUSE WE STAN HERA “SETSUNALASTNAME” NORDION.

There isn’t actually much to the pupper in ferp canon yet. The idea belongs mostly to our current Ares and our previous Nanna, and then Ares mun just kinda went “wait I got an idea” and dropped Hera onto me with no warning.

Ares gave her to Setsuna in their recent thread Knock Knock because Ares lives in constant denial of the fact that him and Setsuna are actually friends, it’s real Ares, accept it Ares Why do you insist on tearing the Steves apart, @nordionknight

But Hera’s a recent addition so I haven’t done much with her. I reference her in my thread with Python and I’ll likely slip her into threads in the future, but for now she is living a peaceful life free of Setsuna’s shenanigans.

🍃: Have they managed to let go just yet or do they still struggle with a loss? If, how does it show?

WARNING SPOILERS BELOW

While Eliwood has accepted the loss of his father and the loss of his late wife (even to the point of seeing someone new), he still struggles with their deaths every day of his life. 

There was nothing more traumatizing than holding his father as he died, then cradling his cold hand for hours as he tried to come to terms with the truth of the situation. He couldn’t control the tears when he witnessed his father’s casket and the weight of his father’s last words, as well as the title he would inherit, fell upon him. He was hardly an adult when it happened, raised without many misfortunes, and he was left terrified. Ascending to his father’s position made everything feel like a blur. Urgency in other matters at the time of his father’s death and the quick passage of time had given him far too poor amount of time for proper mourning.

The loss of his late wife was equally hurtful, though not as traumatizing as his father. She had grown weak as she was simply not meant for this world and Eliwood had been acutely aware of this the entire time, though he had hoped that somehow she would pull through. With Roy’s birth her condition only worsened and he lost her not too long afterwards. He misses her greatly and laments the fact his son will have never met his mother when he was actually old enough to form memories. He sometimes wonders if Roy’s birth had worsened her condition and if he was to blame for her death. After meeting Conrad, he began to feel more at peace with his late wife’s death, though he thinks of her. Naturally he will always love her, but he loves Conrad in a different sense–one that simply does not compare to that of his late wife.

His struggle with loss is evident mostly during the night. He experiences frequent nightmares as a result of the trauma, often waking trembling and in a panic. Before meeting Conrad, he often drank before bed to encourage dreamless sleep, rather than being tortured every night. Sleeping with his new partner has kept his nightmares at bay, allowing them to surface less frequently even without the assistance of alcohol.

There is also a certain sadness in his eyes as the mention of his wife and there are still possessions of hers that he holds onto. All his smiles when he speaks of her are bittersweet, but there is strength in those words. To this day, he considers Roy to be the best gift anyone has ever given to him, and wishes that his father could have met his grandson. He knew he would have been just as proud.

“Ever since I was a child, I have always been amazed by the blanket of stars that lay above us. There is much unknown about the lights that dazzle alongside the moon, or the meaning of such constellations,” Eliwood reflected, “my favorite is the centaurus, for its meanings and connections to wisdom.”

All Good Things Come in Threes

Shh: Three things they wouldn’t want their parents to know.Well, first of all would probably be his feelings for Eirika. I don’t think his parents would be upset with him for having them, but Seth looked up to his father so much as a boy, and definitely saw him as the pinnacle of what a knight should be, so confessing to any sort of slip in professionalism would feel like a failure to him.Also, probably the whole fall of Renais/Orson’s defection thing. I can’t imagine him wanting to mention that King Fado died and the whole country got overtaken. I mean, realistically it wasn’t Seth’s fault, but that doesn’t mean, as head of the army, that he doesn’t feel responsible. I’m not really sure what to say for the third thing. Seth isn’t a man with a whole lot of shame, and for the most part, I think his parents would be proud of him and everything he’s accomplished. Maybe he wouldn’t want to let them know about Tolan becoming a mage. That might bring them unnecessary levels of worry.

Best childhood memory you can recall?

“I had a pretty average childhood, yeah? I mean, growing up on a farm in a rural town didn’t leave much room for anything out of the ordinary to happen. But…it was nice. ‘Always had friends to play with and to this day, it still feels like home to me,” Tobin replied with a fond smile, before he chuckled nervously, “oh, right. A memory…there was this time a wild horse wandered onto my Pa’s plantation. My friends and I were watching it from a distance and one of them dared me to tame it. They probably weren’t serious, but I went and jumped it anyway. Don’t worry, it doesn’t end bad, surprisingly. I actually managed to tame it by dumb luck. But by the mother I looked so cool! ‘Shoulda seen Gray’s face, it was amazing!”

Would you rather have your own kids or adopt? How many kids would you want?

“Kids?” Tobin repeated, a nervous expression settling on his face as he ran a hand through his hair, “I mean…’guess I never really thought much ‘bout it. I come from a pretty big family, so I was always surrounded by a bunch of younger siblings. I love them to death and miss them from time to time, but…if I’m honest, it felt a little nice to get away from that, yeah? I don’t really know how I feel about actually being a father…”

Dark and ghosts?

The Dark: Did your muse sleep with a nightlight as a child?

I can imagine Eirika and Ephraim sharing a room when they were little (both in Renais and in a modern AU), and I feel like Eirika would be more likely to want to sleep with a light on. But I don’t think Ephraim would really mind either way. He’s not worried about things like ghosts or intruders, because the former are intangible and the latter he would just beat up anyway.

I think after the events of FE8, Ephraim would be much more prone to nightmares, reliving some of the traumas he experienced in regards to the Demon King. But I feel that would happen regardless of whether he had a light on in his room.

Ghosts: Has your muse ever seen something they couldn’t explain?

I think seeing his formerly kind friend twisted into something he couldn’t recognize counts, as well as the strange reanimation of Vigarde and the betrayal of Orson. Ephraim isn’t the kind of person to dwell on the inexplicable, though. He accepts that despite something seeming impossible, if that’s what’s happening before him, he has to accept it for what it is no matter what -- and no matter how painful that may be.

On a semi more lighthearted note, I think Ephraim has a hard time always processing others’ emotional reactions to situations, seen in his supports with Tana. I think to this day he’s still a bit mystified as to what he did to make her so hurt towards him.
