A few weeks ago I was singing on the worship team and my pastor said he had something for me. Apparently someone had sent a letter to the church for me. I opened it and read the first few lines. "Consider this a fan letter..." it started. I knew it was going to make me cry, so I put in back in the envelope and waited until I got home. The letter was on a cute card and was filled on all sides with writing. She told me how she doesn't live here, but heard me sing on the live stream and wanted to write me. She told me about all these things she hopes for me, and told me a little about herself. Including that she's been diagnosed with life ending cancer. She then finished the letter by asking me if she could pray for me. It blew me away. Here's someone who is fighting one of the hardest battles life can hand you, and she is sending me, a total stranger, a handwritten letter, and asking if she can pray for me. Her handwriting and her heart reminded me of my grandma, and I knew I had to write her back immediately! I sat down and wrote her back and gave her my contact info. A few days later she called. We talked for awhile. I told her how her letter was perfect timing and how much it blessed me. She told me how she was worried I'd think she was weird, and how much my letter back blessed her. We marveled at how God works and we prayed together. A few days later I got a letter back from her, filled with cards she wrote some daily affirmations on for me. Again, it was perfect timing. I don't know how long we have, but I am so thankful for my new pen pal! I pray for healing for her, because she is such a bright light in this world, and we need people like her! I am thankful for every letter and conversation we get to have! I hope she encourages you to step out in faith and do something nice for someone today.
