Okay hear me out but when the game Iron Lung first came out I was not impressed. I didn't get it. You're in a sub. You take some pictures. Like how is this scary? Or entertaining? Those were my first thoughts. The game paid off though. Solid 10/10 horror experience. One I would think a movie could be made from? Nah. But I was dead wrong.

So here's the thing.

I love horror. Markiplier has been playing horror games for longer than a good chunk of his fanbase has been alive. And back when he was playing Outlast I remember thinking to myself "Man, I wish Mark would make a horror movie because it would be fucking awesome". And then HE DID.

And you know what?? It SLAPPED. The man knows horror. And he knows UNIQUE HORROR. He knows the tired tropes and the genuine scares. He hates the ocean and built upon that. Iron Lung is everything I could've ever hoped for from a movie and then some. It's EXACTLY what I wished for when I thought "I hope Mark makes a horror movie" and I didn't even know it. I just so vivdly remember that moment all those years ago and to see it come to pass is like a literal dream come true sgshsjsk

Okay I'm reading over IGN's review of Iron Lung and I can't help feel anything but angry. They completely gloss over anything to do with the plot, dismissing it like a 5-year-old giving you a painting, but spend sentence upon paragraph about the credits of who is invloved. Oh this person who did b-roll knew a guy who worked on Alien so I guess the movie is okay GET THE FUCK OVER YOURSELVES.

It is ALL "oh but popular remake of this horror movie is better" and NONE of the ACTUAL MOVIE.

You cannot see any clearer how popular hollywood wants to erase actual artists. Iron Lung may not be perfect, but I have never seen a movie so DISMISSED without evaluating anything of actual SUBTANCE about it before. You hate the plot? Valid. You hate the acting? Valid. You hate the color tone? Weird but valid. No no no this review just picked things to arbitrarily hate with no backed up reason and if that's not proof enough that hollywood has no backbone or intergity and just relies on money and influence and will defend it at all costs I don't know what is.

Proship and Antiship

Okay I'm going to say it because I've seen it come up a lot on my blog and if seems to be a hot topic for some very good reasons.

From my understanding proshippers say ship whoever and whatever and antishippers have restrictions on who can be shipped with whom. So I wanna state a few things.

Generally you can ship whoever with whoever; there's mostly no harm in it. But if you are shipping an adult with a minor you are encouraging pedophilia. Let me explain.

You are not a pedophile. I want that to be clear. But vulnerable kids see shipping content and think that kind of stuff is okay, so they engage with adults who want to abuse them.

Whatever you repost online whithout proving context you are creating a normalcy. Just be aware about that, please.

Something irks me so much about an automated call that wants a verbal answer instead of just pressing a button (i.e. press 1 for this).

Like what if I'm mute?? What if my environment is too noisy? What if I have an accent? What if I just can't talk? God forbid someone with a throat injury/illness try to refill their painkillers. Sorry the robot couldn't hear you guess you'll just have to suffer.

We made the "press 1 for option" to make things easier ffs. Now there's a whole new set of ableistic hoops to jump through. Why?!?!

Hot take but every time I see an economic system villainized it's always the extreme version. It'a always the version that exploits every loophole and just takes things too far. Like first of all why are we evaluating these systems at their worst second of all why are we analyzing them as if they occur in a vaccuum (politics, history, geology, etc all play a role) and finally why aren't we examining why they're taken to the extreme?

Pro Tip! When someone goes "wHEn IS sTraiGhT PRidE MoNTh hur hur" just answer "idk when is it?" Because there's literally nothing stopping straight people from having a pride month. Like they could just do it but they don't.
