Splinter Appreciaton week day 3 prompt: legacy/tradition
++
(Intended to be my original iteration Myuutanto Taatoruzu, but interpret this as you will ;) )
It had become tradition every Father's day to create something for Splinter that he could enjoy. Something he could feel, smell, hear, taste. Each of his sons had their own skill sets and took over one of these tasks.
Every year Don would cook him a flavorful meal, often something he had not yet tried. Traditional cultural dishes were a favorite of his.
Leo would create him various works of art. Heavily textured paintings, wood carvings, one year he had made a warm blanket.
Mikey would craft him sets of candles, incenses, or diffusers that the ratdad would use practically everyday.
Raphie would write him songs, poems, short stories, record them and gift him the disks.
Splinter had kept every item meticulously organized on his shelves in an order and way only he knew where everything was by heart.
And every year he would cry from joy and sadness that he could not craft such beautiful items for his sons. Many things such as these were far beyond his realm of abilities. And every year they would hug him close and reassure him that being here was more than enough. They didn't ask for more, they didn't need it.
