#2 - for the PB100 Prompt: FOLLY
Castiel has committed many sins in his time. Blasphemy. Betrayal. Murder. Envy. Lust. For the most part, he has had good and justifiable reasons for his choices, and has taken comfort in that despite seeing them yield horror after horror. But this—this is no mere horror. Horror, he has learned to live with. He will not be able to live with this. Letting Lucifer possess him—what was he thinking? How could he possibly have convinced himself that it would be another forgivable necessity? That it was anything other than complete and ruinous folly? He has made himself a literal tool of the Devil. He should have expected that nothing less than the most heinous of transgressions would follow. He is a fool. He is a fool. He has invited in the unmaking of everything he holds dear. "Hello, Dean," Lucifer mimics, the artifice itself part of his plan for vengeance. He has shown Castiel his hateful grudge. His sickening, wicked intentions. The memory of Dean, bloodied and broken at Lucifer's feet, the very reason he was thrust back into the cage in the first place. And what he plans to do when he puts Dean on his knees this time around. You'll enjoy this, Castiel, Lucifer purrs to him in his mind. There is nothing Castiel can do to stop it. Dean welcomes him with a smile.
