It’s great to see Jake Abel again.

I like how Adam and Michael have come to an understanding. Also I’m lolling at Abel’s Dean voice he’s using as Michael, but it’s a nice touch nonetheless.

”…and I didn’t want to jinx it but whatever…” Oh good. Dean’s going to jinx it. That said, he really doesn’t have to jinx it I’m pretty sure having sex with Sam is the real jinx here.

I was like these diner goers sure are handling this whole dude talking to himself meets up with a girl who’s all “I’m back, baby :D!” and then I realized since it’s a diner it’s just one of those places you hear nothing and see nothing. Just let these weirdoes be weird you’ve done worse.

You can tell Michael’s been out of the game for ten years because he walked right into that angel trap.

I’m glad that they let Jake Abel play both Adam and Michael instead of trying to make him play only Michael.

I’m glad that Sam is going with Eileen if only because I was worried if she went by herself it would be a trap (still might be a trap)

Technically no one is Chuck’s favorite come to think of it.

I kind of hope this means we’re going to get interesting things from Michael and not just a one off. It’d be fun to explore him coming around and joining forces. Maybe not immediately, but in due course.

Of course the vampire hunter is Chuck. Of course they are.

Okay seriously that was one of the most emotionally draining episodes ever (hits my top 20). I can't imagine what Dean is going though, Sam also just lost his best friend. Jack is now an orphan, having just lost his "father". I literally can't handle this show.

Supernatural season 15 episode 3 reaction and spoilers

Apparently Belphegor is a demon you summon when you want to get rich in a lazy way, but he’ll also try to break up your merry band, and so a lot of what he’s doing what he’s doing makes so much sense now that I’ve brushed up on who he is mythologically.

It’s weird adjusting my thinking to SPN’s version of Lilith after enjoying Machikado Mazoku (The Demon Girl Next Door) with their entertaining version

I knew Dean would volunteer to go saltless

Dean, don’t volunteer Castiel for the trap. Although frankly this whole plan sounds like a lot of traps

We also need to talk about how Belphegor is one of the princes of Hell come to think of it.

I’m going to be shocked if Lucifer doesn’t end up wearing Sam at some point this season.

The horn sounds a bit like a subdued airhorn

I want to say something about the emotion surrounding Castiel taking his rage out on Belphegor and finally melting his vessel when Belphegor tries to trick him with Jack but I can’t find the right words to convey how I feel about it for Castiel.

I can only imagine what’s about to happen here. I mean seriously “It has to be you who kills me!” said to Sam is just so suspicious given the circumstances.

”We did it, man. God threw one last apocalypse at us and we beat it.” Oh, Dean, Dean, Deanie Deanie jellie beanie, it’s only episode three. Good luck with that

Dean’s like “Where are you going, Cas?” after he says, “Why is it that the thing that always goes wrong is you?” and it’s like Dean. DEAN. If you take your frustrations out on people they aren’t going to stick around.

Also, I think Castiel taking off sure seems like a great recipe to get us towards something that’s like “The End” but not exactly the same, which isn’t really something I want to see admittedly but I’m also kind of expecting nonetheless.

Supernatural season 15 episode 2 reaction and spoilers

I still think the most viable Jack the Ripper theory I heard was local coroner

”Doors have locks. Locks have keys.” My brain: [Sam voice] If there's a key, then there has to be a lock.

Castiel: Even if we didn’t know that all the challenges we faced were born of Chuck’s machination, how would we describe it all? We’d call it “life,” because that’s precisely what life is. It’s an obstacle course and maybe Chuck designed the obstacles, but we ran our own race. We made our own moves, and mostly we did well with that. Dean: Did we? I’ll tell you what we know. Nothing about our lives is real. Everything that we lost, everything that we are, is because of Chuck. So, maybe you can stick your head back in the sand – maybe you can pretend we actually had a choice – I can’t. Castiel: Dean – you asked, “What about all of this is real?” – We are.

I really liked the above exchange. It shows how far Castiel has come since season four and also shows Dean still struggling with one of his core issues: his struggle with people and/or beings trying to control him. If you think about it, Dean didn’t leave when Sam did, he remained under their dad’s influence. That’s why he shows up in episode one all “Dad hasn’t been home in a few days.” Once Dean’s released from John’s control, he has barely any time to breathe before he’s sending himself to Hell for Sam’s sake. In Hell, Dean is first controlled and then in a way loses control of himself as he becomes like the demons. Once he’s back topside, the whole Chuck thing starts up and Dean finds out that he’s been dealing with Chuck trying to control him and his life since before he was even born. It makes sense that Dean is struggling with this because it’s frustration, anger, and resentment that he’s felt time and time again and he probably can’t completely be sure that another something or other, if not Chuck himself, might appear and try to exert control.

Kevin, I missed you. A shame they’re under-utilizing Osric Chau though, but that’s not too surprising. So far season 15 has been suffering from consistent flaws in the series as a whole.

Supernatural season 15 episode 7 reaction and spoilers

At first I thought that Dean was trying to give Sam space to score, but feeling pent up and !!! also makes sense.

Places that make you give up your phone make me nervous because I only use mine for emergencies. Otherwise I have it turned off.

”So there might be some of you inside Chuck.” It’s going to be interesting to see where that goes.

I feel like I should know who the bar owner is because he seems familiar, but apparently according to wikia, this is the first time the character has appeared in the show. I think it’s because I watched a bit of Leverage back when I was watching SPN regularly years ago.

You can tell that Chuck’s writing because we’re back to his favorite scenario: Dean is off having fun and Sam’s getting up to some questionable stuff in his absence.

Well, Cas is really going to be in the doghouse now.

I love the face Dean pulls when he gets up on the stage.

“Small thing. … Sam is dying.” Oh good.

Dean’s face as the bar owner explains the monster. You can see the exact moment he realizes he has to kill this guy.

”Do you really want to do this?” Dean kind of has to do this.

Kind of makes you wonder. Like obviously Chuck is weak, but he’s also writing again. So maybe he’s trying to write up a situation in which he’s either released from this particular place so he can move on to the next creation or he can destroy the Winchesters and start over stuck in the world he can’t escape. Maybe.

Supernatural season 15 episode 6 reaction and spoilers

Ever since I found out the episode title is “Golden Time,” I’ve been thinking about the brothers kicking back Yami style knowing full well that’s not the kind of golden time we’re probably going to see.

Not that we necessarily need to hear presumably Chuck’s narration but the music is really drowning it out here.

Sam is always surprised that his probably learning disabled brother has not been hitting the books.

Oh good. Vampires maybe.

I wonder if we’ll get to see the brothers realize that Chuck is forcing them into these choices and they will have to try and break out of it. I mean I know it’s kind of a plot done before, but maybe returning to the theme of trying to seize self-determination would be a good thing for season 15 to do.

I would also be curious that if the show were to tackle free will and embrace it could release the souls that have been to Hell from being forced back to Hell as well.

I like that Dean and Castiel’s conversation shows two things: a) Chuck is warning Castiel through Dean that Chuck’s back in the game, b) “Check your damn messages,” is Deanspeak asking Castiel not to just cut them off entirely. I wouldn’t call it an apology, but it’s concern at least.

Knowing Chuck is narrating makes me nervous for Eileen

Oh good. Sam’s thinking about a solution. Good. Even if it’s weird knowing Chuck is narrating it.

The episode is called “Golden Time” and it seems so ominous you know? Castiel is losing his powers, Chuck is narrating again, Dean is depressed, etc…It’s kind of like the gold on a horizon just before dawn or just after sunset and it really does kind of seem like a mix of endings and beginnings. Should be interesting see what this signifies as a potential turning point.

Supernatural season 15 episode 5 reaction and spoilers

I’d almost wonder if Sam is dreaming Chuck’s rough drafts, but he was doing this while Chuck was on a hiatus, though maybe if Chuck was thinking about the story though not writing a rough draft, perhaps that would manifest as these “The End” themed dreams.

I like the evolution of Dean’s bedside manner. It’s kind of subtle nod to how much his character has changed even if so much about him stays the same.

Honestly was half expecting her to have been turned into a werewolf, but I suppose this is how it would have to go on this show

So who or what is she?

I suppose Lilith would have to show up sooner rather than later<. Would also explain why Dean just randomly fell asleep too/li>

Well, I suppose Sam doesn’t have to worry about that nightmare now.

Oh right. I’d forgotten about the bullet. That makes sense that they could communicate accidentally through it.

I wish they’d kind of pushed Dean’s “How the hell are we supposed to fight god?” scene farther, but what can you do it’s SPN

Supernatural season 15 episode 4 reaction and spoilers

I do a lot of dreaming in monochrome primary colors, so this is red scene will probably lead to some weird dreams.

Leave Becky alone or so help me.

I like monsters and family bonding. Both is always good.

”A bit of a falling out” is a wild way to say “I started the apocalypse and I regret it.”

Oh good. Chuck’s going to probably start writing again.

HEY. HEY. What did I say? Leave Becky alone.

And yet another kind of unsatisfying revisit because it only lasts an episode. It’s a shame that like Kevin, Becky can’t advance in the narrative.

It’s also a shame that Becky has to get erased to advance the narrative as well.

I do, however, like the marked tonal shift of Dean waxing poetic in the Imapala at Sam like he did in earlier seasons. I’m curious if we’ll see more of a tone similar to the early seasons now that Chuck is back to writing.

Dean’s speech reminds me why he was such a relatable character for me when I started watching this show and how through him it was so easy to fall into loving this show back in the day.
