12x09 "First Blood"
Recently I've found that I thoroughly enjoy discussing scenes that I appreciate so here we go.
The episode when the boys are put in solitary confinement for a month and a half after banishing Lucifer from the president's body is one of my favorite episodes. From the gore, to the boys being badass, to Cas struggling to hunt, the final heart breaking scene, all of it was just amazingly put together.
Let's start towards the end.
The boys find a way to escape and the government comes after them in the forest. Creating one of the sexiest, most badass scenes ever.
I have probably watched this scene over 20 times. I love seeing the boys in action and kicking ass. These government officials are in on something they have no comprehension of and have just kept Sam and Dean in this facility for over a month. They have no idea what they've run into.
This leads into, in my personal opinion, the best part in this episode.
You can't run forever. You are trapped out here.
Insert Dean's smug little smirk here (seriously tumblr let me upload more pictures)
Well, what we have here is a failure to communicate.
Cause' we are not trapped out here with you.
Seriously. Who in their right mind didn't love this scene? When Sam cocks the gun after Dean finishes his sentence I found myself both scared and turned on. (Mostly turned on)
Now, I could go on and on about just this scene but there are other scenes that just bring the whole episode together.
After the boys capture and kick every highly trained military persons ass, mind you this is just two boys and they absolutely Fuck. Shit. Up.
They have both detectives captured and by now these men have realized they're not dealing with normal (hehe) guys. So of course they ask the most infamous question. Who are you?
To which I answered: Fuck yea you are.
After the boys find their way out we quickly learn just how they faked their deaths and of course, the Winchesters escape death once again thanks to our pal Cas who proceeded to kill the reaper Billie who came to collect a Winchester. Mary of course sacrifices herself.
Writers of course then had to rip my heart out with the following scene that made me cry more times then I care to admit.
Cas really does love these humans and seeing how fast things fell apart in the hunting business when they disappeared. He did what he knew had to be done. No matter the consequences, the world needs the Winchesters.
In conclusion this was one of their best episodes.
It had me fifty different types of fucked up and I had to sit in silence after watching it to even comprehend what had just taken place. Then proceeded to watch it over.
Thanks for coming along on this mess of a post that I felt was necessary. If you stayed till the end-
Here's Dean and his husband buddy.
