Dean ► The Rising Son (13.02)
13x02丨Dean Winchester
He’s so proud of himself. My heart is actually melting.
ok so dean could have left jack with the knife bc he knew the knife wouldn’t do anything to the kid
but he was so disturbed by what this kid was doing - this kid that he knows he will probably eventually have to kill - that he comes in and confiscates the knife
like
dean
just accept that you see cas in him
and accept that you see yourself in him
Is it just me or they kind of look familiar?
‘Supernatural’ Episode 13×02 “The Rising Son” Preview
BY JEN RYAN OCTOBER 17, 2017 // 2:13 PM
The next episode of Supernatural will bring back some old faces, and introduce some new ones in “The Rising Son”. Now that the guys have decided to bring Jack back to the bunker, they may find that taking care of the kid will bring more problems than they thought.
“The Rising Son” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)
WHAT EVIL THIS WAY COMES… — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) begin to explore what Jack (Alexander Calvert) is capable of doing with his powers. An unexpected visit from Donatello (guest star Keith Szarbajka) alerts the boys to the fact that Jack will need more protection than the Winchesters can provide. There is a new Prince of Hell in town, Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise), and with Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) out of the picture, he sets his sights set on Jack. The episode was directed by Thomas J. Wright and written by Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner (#1302). Original airdate 10/19/2017. Source: The CW
One of these problems will be another Prince of Hell, Asmodeus, who is ready to lay claim to ruling Hell and Jack. Thinking back to what Jack was able to do to the other Prince of Hell, I can’t imagine that if this other one gets close he wouldn’t do the same thing. He does remember when the bad lady burned and I am sure that memory will come in handy in the future.
We’ll also be reunited with the prophet Donatello, whom we haven’t seen since season 11. According to the above episode summary from The CW, Donatello arrives to pass along some news or information about Jack that could make protecting him a harder job than they first thought.
In alt-apocalypse world, Mary and Lucifer are going to continue their dance, as well as field a visitor of their own. Could this visitor be our new Archangel Michael?
After a really strong season premiere, I am placing my bets now that the second episode of season 13 will live up to its predecessor. More time with Jack and the guys is what I am looking forward to most. Having them be the adoptive fathers of a wayward boy is something that I am excited to see unfold. Bobby Singer would be proud.
Speaking of Bobby, there is a very good possibility that he could make an appearance this season after all! Showrunner Andrew Dabb mentioned him in a recent EW article:
“Moving into the middle [and] the back-half of the season, we plan to do a lot more exploring of the apocalypse world: What it looks like, what it is, how angels live there, how demons live there, how people live there, [and] hopefully another check-in with Bobby Singer down the road, maybe some other people as well.”

Knowing that they will still be exploring this other reality by that point in the season tells me that getting Mary out is not going to be an easy task. Though I am for them taking their time with this world because it really does offer up some great possibilities. The more we learn about what’s in the episodes to come, the more certain I am of the fact that Supernatural Season 13 will be one of the best ones of the series.
Supernatural 13×02 “The Rising Son” airs on Thursday, October 19 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.

QUOTES
Sam: Do you want me to drive? Dean: Do I ever want you to drive?!?
Dean: Sometimes things hurt. You just man up and deal with it.
Dean: He’s not God. He’s not Cas.
Dean: We didn’t see Cas smite someone every time he got his teeth cleaned.
Jack: Is that why Dean hates me?
Sam: Dean feels like it’s his job to protect people.
Dean: You mean the connection that got Cas killed!
Dean: People we love. People who have been in our lives for a long time.
Jack: I’ve read about Hell. It doesn’t sound nice.
Jack: You’re hurting my friends.
Dean: If I’m right…and it comes to killing you… I’ll be the one to do it.
Jack is precious.
