They were both exhausted from the revelations of the day and were unconciously waiting to meet the other. In their melancholy they sought that one familiar soul that could give them shelter. And here was the manifestation of their bond cultivated over the years. One founded with trust and honesty. One with complete harmony where judgment was at bay, where they will be heard and understood. Castiel who was afraid of his next steps once outside the Bunker as he attempt to change fate when doing so in the past costed him a lot. And here was Dean able to set aside his concerns and pay attention. Someone Cas could trust would listen because they do that now. Communicate. So we can be certain that Dean's parting words with Cas were supportive, unlike to Sam's. Dean knew Cas had to do it and gave his blessing to the angel as long as he "do not do anything stupid" and if he did they will solve it together this time. An open line communication that made their bond stronger, something they didn't have before so they keep failing. Castiel left the Bunker with a peace of mind. The deal?Story for another... episode. We can suppose Castiel is now feeling guilty, thus his tearful goodbye #spoiler.
