like it’s not just that Dean’s barely in Sam’s good memories it’s that Sam’s best days are Dean’s absolute worst days, and it also shows that it’s not just Dean who looks at their childhood with rose-tinted glasses at times--when Sam does it, Dean can’t understand it any more than Sam can the other way around. they know each other better than any being in the entire universe including God himself, and yet they never once truly got each other
